HDFC Bank To Open 207 Branches In Maharashtra This Financial Year

In the coming fiscal year, private sector lender HDFC Bank aims to establish 207 branches and 80 smart banking lounges in Maharashtra.

The bank announced intentions to hire more than 3,000 people statewide as part of the expansion. All 34 districts will be served by the 207 bank branches that will be dispersed around the state. In addition, 117 branches will be opened in semi-urban and rural areas, with 90 branches opening in metro and metropolitan districts.

Additionally, the bank is increasing the state’s smart banking lobby’s footprint. It wants to create around 80 smart banking lobbies, which will give the bank’s tech-savvy customers a seamless self-service banking experience zone, according to a statement.

Ahmednagar, Akola, Amravati, Aurangabad, Dhule, Jalgaon, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nandurbar, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Thane, and Wardha are among the 16 districts where the smart banking lobbies would be situated, according to the bank.

The development of our branch network in Maharashtra is something we are happy to announce “said Abhishek Deshmukh, branch banking head for Hdfc Bank in Maharashtra.

“HDFC Bank has locations in all 280 talukas and every district in the state. Our footprint will grow even further as a result of the expansion plan, which will also provide jobs for more than 3,000 people.”

There are around 5,300 touchpoints for HDFC Bank in Maharashtra, including 709 branches, 3,200 ATMs, 1,375 business correspondents, and 15,116 business facilitators.

The bank has made advances to the state totaling ₹3.28 trillion as of March 31. All loans provided by banks in the state are included in total advances, including loans to retail, corporate, MSME, and microfinance clients. The main sectors for these loans include MSME, agro, priority sector lending, and consumer loans. According to the bank, Maharashtra has ₹4.35 trillion rupees in deposits.
