Time flies indeed, we are on the month of Sep now. The last few weeks of Aug was pretty volatile especially after the Fed Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole event. My Portfolio had not been spared as I had already lifted most of my hedging then; what a bad timing. Nevertheless, I took the opportunity to do some re-balancing of my growth portfolio.
For the sales - I Sold half of my SEA (NASDAQ: SEA) after the disappointing earnings but decided to keep some of it as my original investment thesis in this company is still intact. I had also sold half of my PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) and trimmed some of my JD (NASDAQ: JD), Coupang (NASDAQ: CPNG), Nu Holdings (NASDAQ: NU), Shopify (NASDAQ: SHOP) & Meta (NASDAQ: META). Nothing wrong with the most of the Companies except for Meta; I just needed the proceeds for redeployment. For Meta, I wanted to reduce my exposure as I think this will be another waiting game before it revives its growth trajectory.
For the purchases - I had initiated a few new positions in ZScaler (NASDAQ: ZS), a leading cybersecurity company and MongoDB (NASDAQ: MDB), a leading database company. In my humble opinion, both are top leaders in their respective space but more importantly, I am comfortable with the current management. Last but not the least, I had also added onto my existing positions in Tencent (HKEX: 700), Salesforce (NASDAQ: CRM), Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE), Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR) & Twilio (NASDAQ: TWLO).
In summary, I am still staying largely invested in high growth companies and hopefully better positioned for the recovery which will come inevitably in the future. Thanks for reading and please follow my blog if you enjoy this article.
