All of us have, at one time or another, forgotten something. This time, it can be a Wallet or keys to your apartment; the next, it can be your Fewcha wallet Password.
Resetting or changing your current password to non-custodial wallets is always a breeze. As there’s no authority, there are only a few obstacles you can encounter.

In this article, we will teach you how to reset or change your password in user’s favorite Aptos & SUI wallet – Fewcha.
How to Change Fewcha Wallet Password
Let’s first take a look at how to change your Fewcha password. That is if you still have access to your wallet.
This is, of course, a good practice. You should once in a while change all your passwords. It can be done easily from the setting page.
1. Unlock your Fewcha Wallet
The first step is to open the wallet extension and unlock it using your password.
2. Access Settings and Security
After opening the wallet using the bottom bar, go to the settings.
Here, you can change basically everything about your wallet – from the theme to controlling your dApp connections.
Right at the bottom of the page, there’s also an option we’re looking for: Security. Select that.
3. Set a New Password
The security settings page includes the most important settings regarding your Fewcha wallet. Here, you can export your private keys or the seed phrase. You can also update your password here.
Maybe you are wondering why does the wallet says that your password is never stored by Fewcha. This comes to the way how non-custodial wallets work. In the most basic way, the password encrypts your account, and all that encrypted content is stored only locally in the extension.
That’s also why you have to completely re-import your wallet in case you have forgotten your password – there’s no way to go backward and decrypt the content of your wallet without the password.

But now, back to the tutorial. Once you tap the update button, you’ll be asked to enter your password one more time and set a new password.
After you confirm it using the “Change” button found at the bottom of the page, you successfully changed your Fewcha password!
How to Reset Fewcha Password if you have Forgotten it
In case you are looking for a way to set a new Fewcha password without knowing your current one, the wallet extension doesn’t offer such a button.
Which is always convenient, but unfortunately, you’ll have to uninstall the extension, then install it again and go to the setup process. But instead of choosing to create a wallet, you will import an existing one.
1. Remove the Fewcha Extension from your Browser
To uninstall the Fewcha extension, go to the extension manager in your browser’s settings and right-click the extension. You should see an option to remove it.
On Chromium-based browsers, like Chrome or Brave, you can access it by clicking the Puzzle icon in the top right corner.
Then, install the Fewcha extension again using your browser’s extension store.
2. Re-import your Wallet
Next, open the extension. The wallet will greet you with two options: to create a new wallet or to use an existing wallet.
Since you already have a wallet and want to change your password to access it, select the later option.
Then, choose a recovery option.
You absolutely should have both recovery phrase and private key on hand. That’s the basis for the security of your assets.
However, it is better to choose to recover with a recovery phrase and for one simple reason. The private key is always connected to one account, so if you create multiple accounts under one recovery phrase, each will have its own private key.

3. Set a New Password and Complete the Import
Once you select the appropriate option, you will be asked to first create a password that protects your account locally and then fill in your recovery phrase.
There’s no need to create a super complicated, dozens of characters long password. It is used only in the exact browser you are currently using. If a hacker gets access to your computer, you will probably have more significant problems than a weak Fewcha password.
Just make sure to remember it so you don’t have to go through this process over and over again.
The recovery phrase needs to be filled in in the exact order you got it.
After filling those in, you need to check that you have read the Terms, and after clicking “Continue,” you are all set!
