What is a Police Clearance Certificate – How to Get a PCC from a Local Police Station

How to Check Police Clearance Certificate

Indian citizens who intend to migrate to other countries for jobs, long-term residence, or housing reasons must get a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). Tourists traveling abroad on a tourist visa need not obtain a PCC from the Indian government.

Because of its comparatively liberal regulations regulating foreign citizen admission and work, 17 nations have been designated as Emigration Check Required (ECR) nations. To protect citizens from excessive strain, especially that caused by unscrupulous employment, the Emigration Check Not Required or ECNR status is essential for non-tourist visa travels to the following nations:

  • UAE (United Arab Emirates)
  • Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Yemen
  • Sudan
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • Afghanistan
  • Syria
  • Kuwait
  • Bahrain
  • Thailand
  • Lebanon
  • Malaysia
  • Indonesia
  • Iraq
  • Libya
  • Jordan

When submitting a PCC request, you may choose the local police station. Afterward, simply adhere to the processes outlined above to obtain your PCC with simplicity.

  • Go to the police station nearest you.
  • Respond to a police officer’s questions. They normally run a background inquiry and inquire regarding the application’s aim.
  • Provide the self-attested papers listed on the Passport Seva website.
  • Make payment for the charge in cash or by check.
  • The officials will review the papers and determine whether or not they will provide a Police Clearance Certificate.
