Shares of aerospace and defence companies continued to remain in the limelight on Thursday, as they witnessed a sharp rally amid euphoria surrounding India’s historic landing on the moon’s south pole. Chandrayaan-3 made a successful landing and the stocks of the companies involved appreciated to the tune of 20 percent on Thursday’s early trades. 

Centum Electronics gained 18.57 percent to reach a record-high of ₹ 1948.65 apiece, Paras Defence and Space Technologies zoomed 17.32 percent higher to reach a fresh 52-week high of ₹ 842.00 apiece and MTAR Technologies gained 9.88 percent to reach a fresh 52-week high of ₹ 2440.00 apiece. 

A few other stocks that were in the green include Mishra Dhatu Nigam (4.46 percent), Hindustan Aeronautics (2.58 percent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (3.24 percent), and Larsen and Toubro (1.81 percent). 

Centum Electronics delivered more than 200 mission-critical modules to the Chandrayaan-3 mission and received the displayed appreciation letter, according to the company’s website. 

The benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were also in the green. The Sensex gained 0.44 percent to reach an intraday high of 65913.77, while the Nifty gained 0.72 percent and reached a high of ₹ 19584.45 points.
