Shankara embarks on 9-day US visit.

Shankara leaves for a nine-day trip to the US, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
“During his visit to New York from September 22 to 26, the External Affairs Minister (EAM) will be leading the Indian delegation for the high level week at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly,” the MEA stated.
Shankara will speak at the 78th UNGA’s high level session on September 26 in the morning.
S. Shankara, the minister of external affairs, started his nine-day trip to the US on Friday. His main goals are to attend the UNGA in New York and organise a special event on the global south. Shankara will visit Washington, DC, from September 27 to 30, for bilateral discussions with his American counterparts, following the completion of the 78th UNGA-related engagements.
The External Affairs Minister (EAM) will be in New York from September 22 to September 26 and will be in charge of the Indian delegation for the high-level week of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The EAM will conduct a special event titled “India-UN for Global South: Delivering for Development” in keeping with India’s support for the Global South, according to a statement from the organization.
Jaishankar would additionally participate in numerous bilateral and multilateral conferences in New York. According to the MEA, “the EAM will also meet with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Dennis Francis, President of the UN General Assembly’s 78th Session.”
It stated that Jaishankar’s speech at the 78th UNGA’s high level session is set for the morning of September 26. After finishing his UNGA-related commitments, he will travel to Washington.
His meetings in Washington include discussions with his American colleague Antony Blinker, high-ranking officials in the US government, American business executives, and think tanks. According to the MEA, Shankara will also speak at the fourth World Culture Festival, which is being put on by the Art of Living.
