Four-time NBA champ and serial business owner Shaquille O’Neal is launching his own Collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in collaboration with Ethernity Chain, the business revealed Monday.
The release, entitled “Shaquille O’Neal: The Ages of Supremacy Collection,” will work on Ethernity, an Ethereum layer 2, and will be readily available for purchase on Oct. 15.
The collection includes 5 various NFTs portraying scenes from 3 of the groups O’Neal bet throughout his profession – the Los Angeles Lakers, the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat.
Purchasers will be gone into to win a set of customized size 22 shoes and an individual video call with O’Neal himself, in addition to a table at O’Neal’s music celebration.
Ethernity has actually formerly introduced athlete-partnered NFT collections with NFL running back Ezekiel Elliot and famous boxer-turned-politician Manny Pacquiao.
After informing CNBC in September that he’s waiting to “get a complete understanding of what [cryptocurrency] is” prior to investing, O’Neal made his venture into the NFT area recently when he bought 2 Animal World NFTs, making one his profile picture on Twitter.
In late August, Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry bought a Bored Ape Luxury Yacht Club NFT for 55 ETH and utilized it as his Twitter avatar.
Back in Might, Shaq did offer a shoutout to Ethernity’s Muhammad Ali drop, in a possible start to his existing tie-up.
My quote is on the GOAT… @EthernityChain simply dropped 4 special Muhammad Ali NFTs developed by @rafagrassetti. Now at https://t.co/Ib1DmZ1Zd4 pic.twitter.com/RdH9PUamk8
