Bajaj AUM Surpasses Rs 3 lakh crore in the December quarter, Stock Gains 3% after Q3 Report

On January 4, a day after the company released its business update for the December quarter, the Bajaj Finance shares increased by more than 3%. The company’s assets under management (AUM) increased by 35% year over year to Rs 3.11 lakh crore, indicating a robust holiday season.
The company’s AUM has surpassed Rs 3 lakh crore for the first time.

Additionally, Bajaj Finance’s deposit book increased by 35% to Rs 58,000 crore. It received 98.6 lakh fresh loan applications during the quarter, a 26% YoY increase. Bajaj Finance shares were up 3% at Rs 7,613.00 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 9:17 a.m.

The entire franchise value of Bajaj Finance was 8.4 crore, up 22% year over year. The NBFC continued to see strong growth in new client acquisition, bringing its total to 38 lakh from 31 lakh in the same quarter last year.

Analysts at Motilal Oswal stated that Bajaj Finance’s client acquisition trajectory was generally consistent with previous festive quarters and “suggestive of the fact that the RBI ban on two of its products did not have any outsized impact”.

Due to non-compliance with digital lending requirements, Bajaj Finance was directed by the Reserve Bank of India in November to cease providing new loans through its “eCOM” and “Insta EMI Card.”

It said that the business effectively used conventional channels to acquire new customers, with the exception of digital and e-commerce. The stock is rated as a buy by the brokerage.

Bajaj Finance stated in its regulatory filing that, with Rs 11,600 crore, its liquidity situation is still robust. The company used a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) issuance to raise Rs 8,800 crore in November.

Following the QIP, it also finished raising the Rs 10,000 crore in funding that the board had approved in October. Through a preferential offer of shares to founder Bajaj Finserv, it had previously raised Rs 1,200 crore.
