Radium Box: Your Digital Biometric Identity Manager

Biometric technologies are rapidly becoming a part of the daily life of people around the world. Through integration with mobile devices, many of us interact with some form of Biometric authentication daily.

Many biometric services are currently under development and testing. However, in a few years, these biometric technologies will be introduced everywhere. Plastic cards will recede into the background soon, and fingerprint scans will become a standard daily operation. Convenience is one of the big benefits of biometric authentication – using something that is part of you, rather than a password or PIN that needs to be remembered – means you can quickly gain access, whether that’s to a physical building or an online service.

It is the security that is the biggest benefit of biometric technologies. Passwords and PINs can be stolen but it is exceedingly difficult to steal a biometric identifier such as a fingerprint or iris scan. This combination of security and convenience means that the adoption of biometric technology will continue to grow over the coming years and biometric security systems will become more commonplace.

All of the above, to remove fixed costs and reduce operational overheads with user biometrics common usage, Radium Box, a leading Biometric solution provider in the modern industry thrives and focuses on biometric interoperability and aims to become a key supporter of biometrics and digital signatures as an Identity Management solution.

Under the coherent leadership of Ravi S Kumar, Founder, Radium Box provides common people with easy access to digital signatures and biometrics. Technical support is provided continuously for error resolutions so that even semi-skilled users understand how to use biometrics.

In an interview with Insights Success, Mr Kumar shared valuable facts highlighting the significance of Radium Box, its vision, mission, and its endeavours for the modern industry.

Mr Kumar, please enlighten our readers about Radium Box and what is its vision and mission as a leading Biometric solution provider in the modern industry?

Radium Box aims to remove fixed costs and reduce operational overheads with user biometrics common usage and Aadhaar based solution. We want to focus on biometric interoperability as well as increased use in different sectors other than Government and Banking. Radium Box aims to become a key supporter of biometrics and digital signatures as an Identity Management solution for those who are not aware of it after the beginning of the Aadhaar era.

To promote the knowledge of the usage of biometrics and digital signatures and the benefits of employing them as a security of their identity, this India-based company started its quest. Following the government’s zero-tolerance for fraud, routine access transactions are to be improved and enhanced to enhance safety and security and ensure convenience and efficiency.

What inspired you to venture into the field of biometric services?

We are aware that with the deployment of UID Aadhaar, there will be a significant opportunity for identity management to mitigate the impacts associated with fraudulent identities.

Additionally, we are aware that as Internet-based financial services become more popular, their security may be compromised on both ends, leading to identity theft as well as a failure of document encryption. We also recognise that a dearth of appropriate information about this innovative technology will fuel interest in discovering new revenue-generating verticals.

What are your USPs that make Radium Box stand out as a leading biometric company?

  • Our diverse product portfolio serves facial image database search, ISO-complaint photo capturing, real-time video screening, border control, and facial image quality assessment purposes.
  • Our effective biometric solutions empower small, medium, and large-scale companies to enhance the security, convenience, and efficiency of routine access transactions, as part of the government’s zero-tolerance for fraud policy.
  • Our identity as the authorised distributor of all leading OEM of Biometric devices such as Mantra, Morpho, Cogent, StarTek, Secugen, Nitgen etc.
  • Our primary function of connecting buyers and sellers of biometric devices and provide them with a secure platform to conduct both types of transactions. We offer reliable buying and selling experiences, well-regarded customer care, reliable back-end support, and efficient shipping services.

What are the immersive benefits of the services/solutions that Radium Box provides to its clients?

Radium Box began with a clear goal to educate clients on the growing importance of Aadhaar and Digital Signature for their Identity and Access management with consistent branding.

Radium Box has developed a support system that takes into account India’s multilingual culture, and its inadequate computer skills. The organisation provides year-round training and support for locals and small business owners via social media platforms, phone calls, remote desks, mobile applications, and other means.

Radium Box first provides them with the proper biometric brand or USB PKI Tokens. Customers are then given EMI options if they are unable to pay in full at once. Last but not least, our readily available and accessible support staff assists them all year round in the language they are compatible with.

Since Radium Box neither charges nor asks for deposits in advance, it also provides the Unit Trust of India with the free distribution of PAN and DSC Centers, enabling its customers to launch their businesses with no investment. The company also manufactures STQL Certified Biometric Devices of every kind for Aadhar registration and authentication. It provides all varieties of biometric and digital signature services at one location.

What were the initial challenges after venturing into the biometric field, and what are the challenges now?

There were many difficulties because this industry was new to India and was a risky endeavour to choose because there were so few samples accessible to learn about its marketing. Also, I believe the biggest challenge Radium Box as a company faced was hiring the right talent in the very beginning. The current difficulty is finding investors so that its services can be more widely available.

Being an experienced leader, share with us your opinion on how biometric technology is being deployed currently and what advancements can we expect in the future?

Global biometric demand is expected to expand at a significant rate as a result of the rise in terrorist activities and the rise in thefts of important data and information that are raising concerns about national security. According to estimates, the biometrics market is expected to increase as a result of crucial factors like the expansion of the government-supported e-passport programme and extensive use of criminal identification. The latest COVID 19 outbreak has also increased the demand for non-contact biometric services.

Investment in security systems is critical for organisations across diverse sectors where safety remains a major concern. Some of the major clients of this system include the defence, law enforcement, and government agencies. Additionally, the worldwide expansion of these systems has accelerated due to the growing need to improve national security. The biometric service sector can exploit the integration of diverse biometric types as best suited to the specific business demands and risk levels, in addition to linking divergent information about identity across the company.

Integration of biometric technologies into authentication procedures and systems is becoming more affordable. Many machines now come pre-built with biometric capabilities, and businesses are discovering methods to streamline biometric solutions. By 2024, researchers predict that 90% of smartphones will include biometric facial recognition hardware.

What would be your advice to the aspirants who are willing to venture into the field of biometric services?

I advise entrepreneurs to invest all of their passion into their innovations or whatever they are doing and to be persistent (in all aspects of their lives). Results will follow.

I’ve always been a huge advocate of self-taught learning. In my situation, the extensive Internet helped me prepare for this issue. Another strong idea that I adhere to is that you should never stop learning and should constantly be curious about everything. You should invest in yourself and your education, particularly from the foremost authorities in each discipline.
