Right-wing conservative congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has appealed to conservative Christians to dress appropriately and not conform to how the world wants to see women. But some people accused her of double standards.
Beautiful and Modest

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Georgia Republican and Trump supporter said: “If you are conservative and a Christian you know you are attractive by dressing nice and feminine, and you can be beautiful and modest at the same time.”
‘Don’t Tempt Christian Brothers’

She said: “Men will respect you more and think of you much more highly than just [an] object for gratification. It’s also good to not tempt your Christian brothers and cause them to stumble.”
‘Not Good Role Models’

Acknowledging that her view “might be an unpopular opinion and could hurt some feelings,” Greene, 49, said there were “many conservative Christian women, who are influencers or leaders, that are selling themselves short and not being good role models.”
‘Always Be an Example’

And she said that “[a]s conservative Christian women, let us always be an example to girls and young women by displaying actions that our faith believes and not conform to the patterns of this fallen world.”

She added: “Be the light, don’t fall into the darkness.”
Role Models

But many people who replied to the congresswoman’s post, and particularly attempting to portray herself as a role model when she has had a number of affairs when married to her husband for 25 years, said she was being hypocritical. One person accused her of being a “serial adulterer” while another said she was a “cheat.”
New York Judge

Greene has come under fire for saying that a judge in a New York City fraud trial who fined former President Donald Trump almost half a billion dollars should be disrobed.
Judge Engoron ‘a Disgrace’

She wrote on X: “Judge Engoron should be disrobed and thrown out, he’s a disgrace!!”
Trump Florida Resort ‘Worth More’

She said Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort home in Florida was worth more than a far lower figure that prosecutors claimed during the case, whose verdict was delivered earlier this month.
‘Ridiculous Judgment’

She said: “Mar-a-Lago in 1981 was only a home, today it is one of the most exclusive social clubs in the world. Mar-a-Lago is worth more now than the ridiculous judgment he ruled against Pres Trump!”
The New York Trial

Trump, his adult sons Donald Jr and Eric, and former executives of the Trump Organization real estate business were found guilty of committing “years of fraud” by exaggerating the value of their assets to get cheap loans and insurance. Judge Arthur Engoron, who decided the case as there was no jury, issued a fine of $354 million, but an additional $100 million is added to that large sum because of backdated interest. The judge also ordered that the defendants are barred from doing business in New York for three years. Trump said he would appeal the verdict but he must first come up with the cash to lodge in escrow with an appellate court.
Greene’s Trump Congratulations

With rumors that Greene may be seeking a position in a second Trump administration, the far-right representative congratulated the former President on winning the Republican primary in South Carolina on Saturday.
Another Trump Primary Win

After sweeping primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire, Trump also won South Carolina by a landslide. With 99 percent of votes counted, Trump had 59.8 percent of the vote compared to 39.5 percent for his only remaining rival, Nikki Haley, Trump’s former UN Ambassador and an ex-governor of South Carolina who failed to win her state.

Greene said on X: “I will always be on your side, Mr. President! Congratulations on another HISTORIC victory in South Carolina!!”
On Beating Biden

She added, referring to Trump’s campaign slogan Make America Great Again: “We will defeat Crooked Joe Biden in November! #MAGA.”

If Trump, 77, becomes the Republican nominee for this year’s presidential election, he most likely will run against President Biden, 81, who is the leading Democratic candidate for its nomination. Both men are facing significant voter concern about their age and abilities, however, with polls showing the majority think they are too old to run the country for another four years.
