After trading sideways for a few months the bull is back! With almost no red days I could see my Portfolio growing day over day. Very expected and fantastic to watch!

Next month I have the triathlon I have been training for, I am able to run, cycle and swim all separately but I have never done it on the same day. In 9 days I will need to swim 1,5km, cycle 40-45km and run for 10km. My goal is just to complete it!

In June I had some time off and spend it taking kiting lessons. I’ve been looking for group travels (as Im single) but could not find any the period of my vacation in July / August I have another holiday but also there I can’t find any group travels. Most likely I will plan this for September!

Meanwhile the Belgian government continues to lower the restrictions: gyms have reopened fully, restaurants & bars reopened,… there is very little covid restrictions left.

Anyway lets not talk to much about Corona and lets find out how my portfolio did this month.

My Portfolio

My Portfolio has increased to 216357 EUR (+11774). I invested about 1000 EUR additionally but the major growth of my portfolio came from compound interest. I plan to invest another 2000 – 3000 EUR in July.

ETFs

The core of my long term strategy is ETF‘s. I currently ow 5 ETFs all having a huge spread worldwide over multiple sectors. ETFs are the easiest way to begin investing or to put large bulks of money into the Stock market.

My 5 existing ETFs grew with about 5% this month.

High risk – high reward(?) growth portfolio

My growth portfolio is finally growing and outperformed my ETF portfolio this month. It went up with 11%! Thats an amazing increase.

Beam Therapeutics deserves special mention, because I have made a 62% unrealized return on this investment so far. It has mainly to do with the positive news that came from $BEAMs technology, but also general positive news with other gene companies who have been getting positive results. I sold Snowflake and Roku to buy into Agronomics. Not that I don’t like Roku or Snowflake but I just felt the technology behind Agronomics is to important not to support. You can watch a video why I invested in Agronomics here

Palantir and Unity also deserve special mention. Unity went up 30% since earnings, and Palantir is up 60% since earnings.

I doubled down on Galapagos Nv, after the stock took a serious hit when their CSO resigned. Check out the video about it I created here.

Coinbase that has been my worst investment so far is finally showing signs of recovery.

Always invest for the long term in stocks you absolutely believe in, otherwise you will never be able to keep your cool in volatile markets with serious drops in price

Real Estate

I currently owe one apartment that I purchased in 2010 for 136.000. I got it re-estimated in 2020 at it was valued at 185.000 EUR. I did a re-evaluation of my apartment that values it at 199245 EUR. It is both related to a general rise in apartment prices of 6-7% and the value of apartments in my region. This contributed over half to the increase of my Net Worth.

I also have one very small loan left on this apartment (1600 EUR) that will be paid off in September 2021.

Crypto

I predicted the Crypto Crash in my post about the upcoming Crypto winter. And crash it did. Lucky I sold my small crypto position in time when Bitcoin was 45.000 EUR (with the exception of the coins I got for free).

I bought 50 EUR of Cardano this month, and set up a recurring transfer of 50 EUR / month. I probably will only be investing in cardanno. The shitcoins I got for free on Coinbase have completely collided.

Startups

No updates about my startups this month. No news is often good news. My plan is to slowly lower this portfolio, but of course its very illiquid.

Right now I have 2200 EUR still active in startups.

I am using Spreds to purchase these startups.

Peer to Peer

I am left with only 4 peer to peer investments: 1 active peer to peer investment (Crowdestor), and with 100% of the funds in recovery (Mintos) and 1 where I am trying to recover some funds trough legal action.

I am currently trying to sell my last remaining investment on CrowdEstor on the secondary market at a 50% discount. I will be increasing this discount until someone buys it. Its clear by now that the project defaulted.

Nothing new to report for Mintos, I keep withdrawing as money comes in.

Retirement funds

I decided not to update my retirement funds all the time since for most of the funds I get an update just once a year, so I will update it also just once a year. This is from end of 2020. I will update it again in December 2021.

Savings

This was last updated on 30-04-2021.

I will just update this once a year, namely in December, as I don’t think its very spectacular to write about my savings here.

Unless something big happens of course, such as a real estate purchase.

The Blog

I remain happy with the traffic of my blog. Views is slightly down, but my visitors is up to 1057 (+18)

I also had 215 (+23) visitors from search engines this month, which is another record. This time it was google that was responsible for the rise in users.

YouTube

My YouTube channel now has 72 subscribers (+42), so an over 100% MoM growth.

I also bought a new Mic that has drastically increased my sound quality. I actually added 7 new videos, of course my 2 weeks off during the holidays gave my extra time to create content.
