  • To link your account to government agencies like ATO, Log into your myGov account.
  • Head to the Services page and locate the ATO listing and select it to beginning the linking.
  • Agree that myGov will be storing your legal name and date of birth.
  • Then, Provide additional information to identify your ATO record:
  • Where you have an ATO online account, use your Tax File Number (TFN) and ATO account password to link myGov, and if you don’t have an ATO online account, verify your identity by answering a series of questions that are connected to you, such as your TFN, given name, surname and date of birth. This information must exactly be the same details which you have with ATO.

If in any way you changed the details have with ATO, you will need to update them before you can complete the link. To update your details with ATO, go to ato.gov.au and search for ‘updating your details
Read and agree to the terms and conditions of service
After, answer two questions from information in:
a notice of assessment received in the past five years
a PAYG payment summary received in the past two years
a super account statement from the past five years
a dividend statement from the past two years
a Centrelink payment summary from the past two years
your bank account details. It must be the account you had your income tax refund paid into last year, or one that has earned interest in the past two years ago.

You can update your details like email address, contact and other details by using myGov’s ‘Update Your Details’. The changed you make are sent to your various linked government agencies.
