I am currently holding 27.456 shares of Southern Company in the More Dividends portfolio. With this 3% increase it will add an additional $2.20 to my projected annual dividend income and this doesn't even take into account the compounding factor!Current Stock Position
Southern Company has been a very interesting position for me. Initially, I held this position in a taxable account but after a few years I ended up moving the position into a tax sheltered account. Since that time, I have allowed the dividends to reinvest so that it will continue to build me a bigger position. Other than that I cannot see me adding to this position since the current share price is almost 2 times my cost basis. Until the share price comes down I will remain a patient investor Regardless of how large or small, I love all dividend increases. That is how we end up with More Dividends ;-) Do you currently hold any stock in Southern Company? What do you think of this dividend increase? Just let me know in the comments. As always I look forward to reading all of your comments and questions, until then..... happy investing! -Jason from MoreDividends.comRecent Dividend Increases in Portfolio
