Cozy Home Guide

A while back I wrote a post on how to create the coziest home ever. Since writing it, even I have been encouraged to create a Cozy home that I never want to leave. (Not too crazy difficult because I am a Home Body, but still.)

I’ve been stocking our house with warm, cozy colors and extra Throw pillows and blankets. And so many candles, of course. Having a cozy home that really feels like home is now my life’s mission.

It’s been so fun finding stuff to create our cozy home that I thought I should create a cozy home decor guide for you! I want to help you create a warm solace for you to snuggle up in on these cold, winter days, so:

I’ve compiled a list of products that I think are:

  1. Really beautiful
  2. So cozy looking I want to snuggle them ASAP
  3. Rated really well

You can use this list as inspiration to find your own items, or you can click on any pictured item and purchase it straight from Amazon to create your cozy home today!

(This is all really beautiful, tempting stuff, but I think we all know what a black hole Amazon can sometimes turn out to be.. so if you need some budgeting reminders to keep you grounded, I’ve linked them here. )

Throw Pillows:

I don’t know what it is about us gals and our throw pillows.. but I can’t seem to have enough of them! My husband cannot comprehend why we need so many pillows on the bed when most of them are never used, while I’m sitting there wondering why we don’t yet have enough.

Throw pillows are just so cozy and comfy and beautiful! They literally soften up a space to make it feel more inviting, and you can create such a statement with simply pillows.

Pillows tend to be on the more expensive side, though, so I prefer to buy on Amazon or at stores like TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Here are a few very affordable, very lovely and very cozy pillows that I am currently obsessed with!

First up is this neutral, knitted pillow cover. The description calls it boho but I think the neutral color would work in any space. I love the added texture this one provides for just $22! (Plus since it’s a cover and the pillow isn’t included, you could insert your own, favorite pillow.)

Next is a very similar but more affordable option. These adorable throw pillow covers (pillows not included) come in a set of 2 for just $15. I love the warm cream but there are other options. And these are velvet, so we know they’re cozy!

Last for the pillow cases is this simple, super affordable set. You can get all 4 for $20 and I think they’re the perfect place filler. If you want to add some dimension and soften up a space without adding too much craziness, or you just want a couple neutral pillows to sit amongst your patterned ones, these are perfect!

Throw Blankets:

If there’s one cozy item I love the most.. it just might have to be throw blankets. I love them because they’re so practical, so pretty and the perfect place filler!

I love to drape a throw blanket out of a basket for some easy and cozy decor, and it also serves as a great hiding place for things like remotes and cords. (We hide about 3 remotes and 2 huge cords in the basket below and no one ever notices! PRAC-TIC-AL!)

If your couch is lacking warmth or texture, add a throw blanket! If a room has harsh lines and cold colors, add a throw blanket! Whatever the situation, throw blanket is the answer.

Now here are a few of my favorites!

I don’t know when I became obsessed with those little poms, but I think this post has made it clear that I am suddenly a big fan.

I think they’re just so cute and so diverse! You could use this blanket in a living or bedroom to drape across the back of a couch or foot of the bed, and the little poms would add interest and texture. Or you could really play up how girly they are and use them for a little girls room! I think you could really make this blanket work anywhere. And it’s so large that it would the perfect napping blanket. This one is $60.

I think this simple throw is so cute! It’s textured and has frayed edges that would look so cute if you chose to drape it over something, but it’s still so simple and clean looking. Plus it’s super affordable at just $17!

And I just ADORE this blanket! It looks soooo comfy and soft, like the definition of warm and cozy! The description calls it “Luxury Chenille Woven Knitted,” so it has to be legit, right? This comfy guy is $32.

Poufs and Seating:

Comfy seating is a must for a comfy home. That’s why I’ve included this oh-so-cozy looking pouf. For $62, it would be great for some really simple extra seating, and would make the perfect place filler for a space under a bench, near the coffee table, etc.

And then there’s this dreamy-looking, snuggle-y reading chair that I just love! I just want to crawl right up in it with a cup of coffee and read all day! It’s a bit on the pricier side compared to the rest of the items in this post, but it’s a solid piece of furniture, so $290 for this doesn’t seem bad to me at all! This piece would warm and soften up any space, and it would be so great for a reading nook!

Lighting:

Warm lighting from lamps creates the perfect cozy setting, I think. The subdued light of a lamp is one of my favorite things ever. Really, you can’t go wrong with a lamp for that exact reason, but I’ve attached a few I think are really pretty and extra cozy looking!

There’s this one from Ashley Furniture for $100.

Or these two from Ashley Furniture for $103 total.

Last But Never Least: Candles:

If you follow me on Instagram or have ever read my other posts, you know that no one loves candles more than me. I can seriously burn out a large, high quality candle in a day or two, and I frequently do.

Nothing makes a home more inviting than the smell of a candle scented like fresh baked cookies or pumpkin cupcakes. (except maybe some real, fresh baked cookies and pumpkin cupcakes..) I could list about 1,000 of my favorite scents, but instead I’ll just leave you with my absolute favorite Bath & Body Works scents.

The combo of these bad boys with your throw pillows and blankets, warm lighting and cozy seating is sure to create a the perfect haven from the winter cold! Let me know what you end up choosing for your cozy home!

If you loved these items like I did, could you be kind enough to to pin it on Pinterest? It would help me so very much!
