Aussie designer behind reversible Salt and Ripple swimwear collection launches ‘unique’ activewear to glowing reviews | 7NEWS

When a former bartender from Byron Bay made a foray into fashion, it was reversible swimwear that she set her sights on at first.

Simone Leeming, 28, founded Salt and Ripple, also known as Salt Active, in 2017 and initially worked behind a bar to “create some extra cash”.

But when COVID hit, she threw herself headlong into the venture and she says “that’s when it really took off”.

Simone’s latest collection consists of “bold” and “unique” activewear – and now “obsessed” fans are snapping up the designs the moment they come on sale.

“I don’t have to work behind the bar now!” she tells 7Life.

“My range is all about bold, unique prints,” she adds.

“It started as another swimwear collection but then I decided to do it as activewear instead. There’s nothing else like it – the prints, the colour, the fabric.”

It was an overnight hit and now her followers are desperate to get their hands on every new piece.

“Honestly my favourite activewear I have ever bought,” wrote one ecstatic reviewer. “The most amazing fabric, fabulous fit & bloody perfect for Aussie weather!!” wrote another.

“The pattern is so fun for summer,” one reviewer commented. “Stunning! Beautiful design,” another added.

The range which includes bike shorts, leggings, sports bras, and socks, are designed with both practicality and ultimate comfort in mind.

Simone describes her latest super-selling collection as “buttery soft”, something her followers have jumped online to agree with.

“Absolutely slay,” one fan wrote. “I purchased this set after seeing it pop up on my Instagram feed and I immediately knew I needed it. The fabric is breathtakingly buttery just as advertised and the fit is beautiful.”

“Obsessed is an understatement. I literally cannot describe the joy I feel when I put these on!” wrote one reviewer about the new bike shorts. “They do not ride up and fit perfectly. I got so many compliments too.”

Simone’s swimwear range includes underwire tops, triangle tops and tie-side bottoms which are all adjustable, along with g-string, high-cut bikini bottoms.

Customers particularly rave about the uniquely reversible designs, perfect for travelling when you get two bikinis but only have to pack one.

Even those with a larger cup-size are pleasantly surprised by how well the swimwear caters for them.

“Thought I would give them a whirl as the size guide said that it would fit E-cup boobs. Much to my surprise they actually fit and they also fit around my back. This NEVER HAPPENS! I am so incredibly stoked with these bathers,” said one happy reviewer.

“Most beautiful bathers!! The quality, fit and sizing is so on point. Amazing!!!” said another.
