Ethereum Constantinople Hard Fork: Consensus Issues Still in Testing

Constantinople is supposedly a consensus issue prevalent while testing of the already organized hard fork of Ethereum. Constantinople has influenced a testnet such that it can’t be used for a variety of purpose as tweeted by Infura, an Ethereum blockchain infrastructure firm as on 13th October.

Infura, an easy to use API and developer tools to offer secure, reliable and scalable to access to Ethereum and IPFS. Besides this, it offers the infrastructure for decentralized applications so that one can actively focus on the features.

The Constantinople hard fork is a system-wide Ethereum update designed to increase the network’s efficiency.

Further speaking to the subject matter, Infura recommended developers to use other testing networks available especially when the developers at Ethereum is detecting the particular issue. Based on the recent report, the multiple Ethereum developers – the hard fork have already been active across the Ropsten Testnet on 13th October with the size of a block of 4,230,000.

On the technical aspects front, constant testing is believed to have created a ‘Consensus Issue on Ropsten’ that have warranted further investigation as the test is not expected to have Constantinople in 2018 as reported by Afri Schoedon, an Ethereum Developer.

While elaborating more on the subject matter on 14th October, Schoedon further said “the most recent Ethereum core developers call, developers had agreed they would “not be able to activate Constantinople this year if there are any major issues on Ropsten.” He further clarified that “the next scheduled call on the topic would be Friday, Oct. 19, telling the community to “stay tuned” until then.”

At the beginning of 2018, Piper Merriam, an Ethereum developer initiated an Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) claiming that the concept of introducing the Ethereum hard fort to nullify ASIC miners which are considered to be highly centralizing.

Ethereum is an open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform and operating system featuring smart contract functionality. It supports a modified version of Nakamoto consensus via transaction-based state transitions

Let us not forget that Ethereum is trading at $197 which is almost 1.5 percent less compared to the last 24 hours at a press time.!!
