Ontology [ONT] and Infinito Wallet announce their formal collaboration, technical advancement remains the goal

On 28th August, Ontology and Infinito Wallet officially announced their formal partnership. This is at the onset of Infinito Wallet declaring their full support for Mainnet ONT and ONG tokens, scheduled to be executed by November. The official Twitter handle of Ontology, regarding the subject, wrote:

“Infinito Wallet will fully support Mainnet $ONT and $ONG token by early November 2018. Moreover, @InfinitoWallet and @OntologyNetwork are exploring opportunities for further technical collaboration.”

Ontology is a high-performance public multi-chain project and distributed trust collaboration platform, based out of Singapore. Recently, the network had its mainnet launch, which was surrounded by multiple events such as Ont Token swap, airdrop for its customers and much more.

Infinito Wallet, on the other hand, is a universal wallet that assists its user base to store all the big cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, EOS, Bitcoin Cash, GAS, Ethereum Classic, DASH and Dogecoin. The wallet also supports the tokens of ETH ERC20, NEO NEP-5, and EOS standards.

In the past week, Ontology also became the third cryptocurrency to integrate Decentralization Identifier [DID], after Bitcoin [BTC] and Ethereum [ETH]. It is a type of identifier that verifies the identity of a user independent of a centralized control, promoting self-sovereignty in the system.

The current emphasis of the partnership between the network and the wallet is to work on the technical advancements and exploring more opportunities in the field. Infinito, in its official blog announcement also stated that the collaboration is directed towards bettering the user-experience for the customers. Regarding the ONT mainnet, Infinito Wallet wrote to its users:

“Ontology uses a dual token (ONT and ONG) model. At first, ONT is a NEP-5 token and does not release ONG. After the launch of Ontology’s MainNet, users will be able to exchange NEP-5 ONT for ONT on the MainNet Ontology, which will start to release ONG periodically. Ontology requires all users to complete the MainNet ONT token swap before October 1st, 2018.”

Due to the mainnet swap, Infinito has decided to remove all the NEP-5 tokens from the platform to avoid any confusion. This is because both, the NEP-5 ONT token and ONT token will be sharing the same visual logo. Furthermore, on the receive tab of NEP-5 ONT token, Infinito Wallet plans to display a disclaimer stating that the given address is not the same as that of the MainNet ONT.
