Strawberries is one of my favorite fruits. I grew up on Strawberries because my grandparents grew strawberries in their garden. So it was a family affair to pick strawberries and eat them too. We would have strawberries after supper or fresh Strawberry jelly on bread.
One of the benefits of where I live is there is that there are 2 Eckerts Orchards within about 45 minutes from me. So if we want to pick a certain fruit depending on the season we have a great place to go.
Strawberry Festival has started and will continue until June 3. This event is for the whole family including pony rides, inflatables for the kids, and Picking Strawberries which is be the best part. One can pick strawberries or buy some from the market there. Have a great snack at the Custard shop too.
My mom and I visited the Strawberry festival yesterday. The weather was great, many people were there picking strawberries along with us too. A shuttle service would take people out to the fields where you can pick the strawberries.
The strawberries we picked were Sweet charlies.
There were many rows to choose from to pick strawberries. Start at the beginning of the row go the middle of row then go back down and see what you may have missed.
This is the box we were given to put our strawberries in, while picking them. Kids of all ages were picking strawberries with their families. My mom and I each picked close to one box full of strawberries. My mom may be planning to freeze some strawberries, make strawberry bread. I maybe cutting them for strawberry shortcake and even a pie.
When my mom and I were done picking strawberries, we enjoyed some delicious strawberry desserts from the Custard shop.
