1) Jamb finally upload 2019 Utme results on portal – check yours now: The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have finally uploaded the 2019 UTME results online which will enable candidates check their results without sending SMS.
The board says candidates are now free to also access the results of their UTME online.
The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday night in Lagos.

3) We’ve resolved exam schedules with WAEC, says JAMB
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Tuesday assured candidates sitting for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination that they would not be denied the opportunity of writing the examination.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Relations, JAMB, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos following fears concerning a clash in the timetable of West African Senior School Certificate Examination and UTME.
According to the timetable, WAEC students who are expected to write Animal Husbandry on April 11 by 9:00 a.m. are also expected to sit for the UTME on the same day.
4) JAMB applications down by 4.01 per cent —NBS
The National Bureau of Statistics says the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board recorded a 4.01 per cent drop in the applications received in 2018.
The NBS, in its JAMB Applications and Admitted Candidates by State and Gender within Faculty Data (2017-2018) posted on its website, stated that applications received in 2018 were 1.65 million as against the 1.72 million received in 2017.
This, it said, represented about 4.01 per cent drop in comparison to the total applications received in 2017.
Similarly, candidates admitted in 2018 were 549,763 as against the 566,719 admitted candidates in 2017.
5) 2019 UTME: Adhere to printing order, JAMB warns candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has urged candidates for the 2019 United Tertiary Matriculation Examination to adhere strictly to the printing order of their examination slips, to avoid unnecessary issues.
This warning was contained in the board’s weekly bulletin tagged ‘JAMBULLETIN’, signed by the Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin.
According to the bulletin, printing of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination notification slip is ongoing, as the board has since made it ready for all candidates who registered for the examination.
6) 18 items JAMB candidates must not take to exam venue
As the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) begins Thursday, the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned candidates against bringing in prohibited items into the examination halls.
The examination is expected to hold for about a week across Nigeria.
In a telephone interview with Financial Watch Wednesday night, the JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said the items were prohibited in order to secure the sanctity and integrity of the board’s examination.
He said examination officials are allowed to scrutinise eye glasses or similar devices and when convinced that such items may compromise the sanctity of the examination, the examination official should confiscate them.
7) JAMB Deploys NSCDC Men Ahead Of April 11 UTME
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Niger State Command, has deployed 39 personnel to provide security for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination slated to commence on April 11 across the different parts of the state.
Mr Phillip Ayuba, Corps Commandant in the state made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Minna today.
Ayuba said the security would be in the 17 computer – based centres for the 11th conduct of the UTME in Niger State, which kicked off on Tuesday.
Ayuba said that two personnel would provide security in each of the centres, while five personnel from the headquarters would supervise the exercise across the state.
8) JAMB bans wrist watches, pens, phones, 15 others at UTME centres
The 1.8million candidates sitting for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) from Thursday 11 April are prohibited from bringing 18 items to centres where the tests would take place.
The prohibited items listed by an official of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) are Wrist Watches, Pen/Biros, Mobile phones or similar electronic devices, Spy reading glasses,calculators or similar electronic devices, USB, CD, hard disks and or similar storage devices and books or any reading/writing material.
Other banned items are Cameras, Recorders, Microphones, Earpieces, Ink/pen readers, Smart lenses, Smart rings/jewelry, Smart buttons, Bluetooth devices, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, and Erasers
9) UTME: Police warn students against malpractice
The Ogun Police Command on Tuesday warned students sitting for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to desist from any form of malpractice and avoid getting into trouble.
DSP Bimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), gave the warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Ota, Ogun.
NAN reports that no fewer than 1.8 million Candidates will be sitting for the UTME Examinations organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), starting across the country on April 11.
Oyeyemi reminded the students that examination malpractice is an offence and that anyone caught violating the law would be arrested.
10) LASPOTECH vows to punish molesters of JAMB officials
The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu on Wednesday said it would punish any of its non-teaching staff involved in the molestation of two officials of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on the school campus, as claimed by the examination body.
The Polytechnic spokesman said in Lagos that the institution and the Lagos State Government were already addressing the issue, while the police had begun investigation into the matter.
Recall that JAMB had alleged that two of its officials were nearly set ablaze at LASPOTECH on March 29.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, made the disclosure when the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, visited some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres in Abuja during the mock examination.
