Nigerian rapper Runtown launches new music company – Nigerian rapper, Douglas Jack Ago a.k.a Runtown, has announced the launch of his new outfit, the Soundgod Music Group, and ‘Wana- We Are New Africa’ a charity project.
Runtown whose collaboration with Davido on the song “Gallardo” propelled him to limelight, made the announcement on his twitter handle @iruntown at a launch party in Los Angeles, U. S. , his current base..
“Over time, we have been blessed with the talent and wisdom to apply it to use. It’s time we take it a step higher, carry the sound and the message to where it belongs, the top”.
The Enugu-born singer, over the years has grown to become one of Africa’s most preeminent exports on the world’s stage.
Meanwhile, Runtown who was expected to drop his new single June 25 had to postpone it following the death of D’banjs son, Daniel 111.
The singer posted on his twitter page that he will be pushing back the single with no new date yet to be announced.
In 2008, Runtown partnered with Phyno to form a record label called Penthauz during which he released his first two singles titled: “Party like its 1980 and activities Pikin.”
In 2014, he won the Best Collaboration of the year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and was also nominated for the Next Rated Awards of the Headies.
