Exactly around this time last year I was doing my very shoot for Posherry and here we are one year later with 163 posts on the blog and another outfit to celebrate. This is one of those posts that is truly right from the heart, because there is so much to say right now and so many feelings involved. Over the past year not only has Posherry grown but so have I as an individual, in the way I am and the way I live my life now. I have been a part of the fashion world since the past 7 years now, right from studying fashion, working for a designer to now having my own fashion startup. All three stages are very different from each other and have come with their own set of experiences, but I have learnt the most in the last one year. Things were not always easy and they still aren’t, not coming from a business family background and having to think like one has been the biggest challenge. This is all part of growing up and suddenly I feel old now, especially after turning 25 recently. I bring up this point because my denim on denim outfit look today is completed by this beautiful Tory Burch leather messenger bag that was given to me as a birthday gift by my sister and brother-in-law.

Denim On Denim To Celebrate The Next Phase In Life

Other than Posherry turning one and myself turning 25 this post also shows (hopefully) that I have lost weight during this time. I have definitely started taking healthy living very seriously and give a lot of attention exercising and what I eat. If you remember in a couple of my previous outfit posts I have mentioned how conscious I get about my legs and how I always like to keep them covered. That feeling has not gone anywhere but there has definitely been an impact because I feel better and more confident with my own body now. I still have to work on it but I took this time to challenge myself and wear this short skirt for my denim on denim look. The patched denim jacket which is a super hot trend right now is absolutely stunning and impressive. I believe I have hit a couple of trends with this look today, from a patched denim jacket, overall denim on denim look, a little athleisure touch with a sporty strip hem crop top and of course the color burgundy with the Tory Burch leather bag.

Denim on denim can sometimes be very tricky to pull of, my suggestion would be to stick to a darker color for the bottom and lighter for the top or it should be the exact same color of denim for both. As the jacket from LeoPajo was a lighter color and I didn’t want a monochrome look I styled it with a darker blue flared denim skirt.
