If you’ve been trying to come up with the perfect date idea for the holiday season, take a look at this list of suggestions to impress the object of your affection. Consider it my gift to you, It’s the season after all. Don’t let the most wonderful time of the year slip away so quickly! Make the most of it with your mate by cuddling up with some hot cocoa, having a flirty snowball fight or the classic candlelight dinner. The choices are endless and here are my 12 Favourites Holiday Date Ideas for you and your significant partner. Happy Holidays! 12 Holiday Date Ideas You Need to Try A SHOPPING DATE I am a shopaholic, I couldn’t help it. Plus again, you both have to do it, so you might as well do it together. Turning Christmas shopping into a date is a great way to turn an errand into a fun opportunity for spending time together. Shopping doesn’t have to be stressful if you’re doing it with someone you like. Have fun with it. Help each other pick out gifts for the people on your respective lists. Make sure to give yourselves adequate time, then hit the mall and immerse yourself in the craziness. And of course, you can drop hints about what you’d like to get from your significant other by pointing out things that catch your eye. End the date by going home, ordering take out, and wrapping the presents together. VOLUNTEERING TOGETHER During the holidays, the need for volunteers goes up substantially at food banks, soup kitchens, orphanages and clothing donation centers. Volunteering is a slightly unconventional entry on my list of Holiday Date Ideas. But, ‘tis the season, and taking some time to give back to others will make both you and your date feel good. Plus it helps you see if she/he is the one. You might try spending an afternoon working at a soup kitchen or stocking shelves at the local food bank. I have shared a number of ways you could give back to society this Holiday. BAKING Getting together to do some baking may not be your idea of a good time, but it’s actually a terrific holiday date idea. First, it’s oriented around an activity — as the best dates always are. Second, baking gets the two of you working together, cooperating and strengthening your bond. That’s essential if your date is a new love interest. Good dates include an activity that will make her feel comfortable and connected to you. And the best part about baking on a date is that it doesn’t even matter if you don’t know what you’re doing. Just grab the ingredients at the grocery store and give it your best shot. If your recipe turns out well, you’ll also have some delicious holiday grub. If your attempt at baking Christmas cookies is a spectacular failure, you’ll both have a hilarious story to share. OUTDOORSY ACTIVITY   ICE SKATING Provided you’re looking at a white Christmas, you might entice a girl or guy outside for some fun in the snow. Take your date outside and build a snowman, make snow angels or start a snowball fight. Taking her ice skating is another great holiday date idea.  Show her your playful, adventurous side. Ice-skating is another option for an entertaining outdoor date. SLEDDING Emotionally charged moments between you and your date create memories and increase bonding. The adrenaline rush from speeding down a snowy hill can jump-start your relationship. When the first snow covers the ground, grab your date and your sled, find a quality hill, and take him/her for the ride of their life (for those of you in warmer climes, there’s always ice blocking!). Finish the date by warming up next to a fire. Oh yeah. TREE DECORATING Decorating the tree is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. That’s why it’s another one of my 12 Holiday Date Ideas You Need to Try. So, pour yourself some eggnog, put on your favorite Christmas music and start hanging ornaments. Whether you’re decorating your tree, her tree or a shared tree, you’re certain to have a good time. You can even make picking out the tree part of the date. CHRISTMAS PARTY A Christmas party is another one of my 12 Holiday Date Ideas You Need to Try. Obviously, you can invite a date to come with you to a friend’s place or to an office party. However, you should also think about hosting a party. You have a couple of options here: You can invite your friends over to kick off the holiday season or, alternatively, you might fill the gap between Christmas and New Year’s with a post-Christmas party or a Boxing Day bash. After spending three or four consecutive days with their families, your friends and your date will probably be thankful for a night away from home. CHRISTMAS MOVIE NIGHT Everyone has a favorite Christmas movie. Whether yours features Chevy Chase or a Claymation reindeer, you should invite your special someone over to partake in a traditional Christmas movie night. Spend the night in with a cup of hot chocolate and a couple of your favorites. Holiday movies not only put you in the Christmas spirit, but they provide excellent opportunities for cuddling up to one another on the couch. Have a Christmas movie marathon. Stuck on […]
