This Sunday is the Academy Awards. It’s the culmination of awards season. We’ll find out who won Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Song…among other things. The event really kicks off with the red carpet parade of gowns—couture hits and misses worn by the celebrities we’re rooting for (or not) to win a golden statue of their own.

This season’s crop of cocktails range from delicious low calorie ones that salute La La Land, Hidden Figures and one of its stars, Octavia Spencer to two separate cocktails (Hell and High Water)named for the Oscar nominated pic. They were created by acclaimed mixologist Nick Mautone of New York City’s Rainbow Room. Hell and High Water will be served at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official party on Oscar night. Lucky diners at Tanuki in South Beach will also have the chance to try these cocktails Sunday night. Quick! Make a reservation. Only kidding!

Basil Hayden's Golden Spice
This cocktail is easy to make—you could whip it up during a commercial break!
Ingredients:
1 part Basil Hayden's Bourbon
Sparkling Apple Juice
Directions:
Add Basil Hayden's Bourbon to a champagne flute. Fill the remainder of the glass with sparkling apple juice. Garnish with a sliced apple.
Hell

Ingredients:
2 oz. Allaire Tequila
1 oz. Triple Sec
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup
1/2 tsp. Chipotle in Adobo
Directions:
In the bottom of a cocktail shaker place syrup and chipotle, then muddle thoroughly. Add the tequila, triple sec, lime juice and ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beaded with sweat. Coat the rim of the cocktail glass with salt. Then strain the mixture into the glass and float a jalapeno slice on top.
Glassware: Coupe Glass
Garnish: 1 slice of jalapeno + coat the rim of glass with salt
High Water

Ingredients:
2 oz. Allaire Vodka
1/2 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Combier Rose Liqueur
1/2 oz. Simple Syrup
3 oz. Bitter Lemon Soda
Add first 4 ingredients to salt-rimmed highball glass filled with ice and stir briskly. Top with Bitter Lemon Soda and garnish with extra-long zest of lemon.
Glassware: Highball Glass
Garnish: Extra-long zest of lemon + coat the rim of the glass with salt
Teary Acceptance

There’s always someone crying when they pick up Oscar. Toast them with this cocktail!
Ingredients:
1/2 part Frangelico
1 part Scotch
¼ part Orange Liqueur
¼ part Palo Cortado Sherry
Garnish with a lemon twist
Directions:
Add ice to a shaker. Then add all the ingredients and shake vigorously. Pour the cocktail into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.

Ingredients:
.5 oz. Frangelico
1 oz. Fino Sherry
1 oz. Cinzano 1757
.75 oz. Amontillado Sherry
.5 oz. Lemon Juice
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
Directions:
Combine all ingredients and whip shake with 3 ice cubes. Pour into Collins glass over ice. Top with tonic and garnish with a lemon wheel.

½ crushed pineapple
1 cup crushed ice
1 cup vodka
2 cups cold Coco Joy Water

Directions:
Combine pineapple, ice, vodka and Coco Joy Water in a blender and pulse until smooth. Garnish with limes.
Sparkling Grapefruit Negroni
Here's a twist on the classic Negroni
Ingredients:
4 parts Q Grapefruit
1 ½ parts Campari
1 ½ parts Premium Gin
Directions:
Combine Campari and Gin over good ice in a cocktail shaker and shake until cold. Strain into a flute and top with Q Grapefruit. Garnish with a grapefruit wedge or peel.
Sparkling Paloma
Drinking this is like having your own sparkly spotlight.
Ingredients:
2 parts Montelobos Mezcal
6 parts Grapefruit Soda
Ice
Directions:
In a highball glass filled with ice, combine ingredients. Stir lightly and serve with a straw. Garnish with lime wheel if desired.

La La Lemon-Berry Drop
Cascade drinks are gluten-free, sodium-free and caffeine-free. Oh, and they have zero calories.
Ingredients:
3 raspberries muddled
1 oz. vodka
4 oz. Cascade Ice Lemonade
Ice
Lemon slice (optional)
Raspberries (optional)
Directions:
Swirl the mixture and the muddled raspberries around in a shaker filled with ice. Pour into a sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with a lemon slice or a couple of raspberries.
Octavia’s Orangesicle Float
Using a low cal frozen treat keeps the calorie count low.
Ingredients:
Two scoops of your favorite low cal vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt
Orange Mango Cascade
Orange slice for garnish (optional)
Directions:
In a tall glass, put two scoops of the ice cream or fro yo. Next, pour Cascade Ice Orange Mango over the ice cream until the glass if full. Garnish with an orange slice if desired and serve with a spoon and a straw.
The Mathematicians Moonshine
Sorry, there isn’t a diet bourbon out there—but this cocktail is still low cal and tasty.
Ingredients:
1 oz. Bourbon
6 oz. Huckleberry Blackberry Cascade
3 muddled blackberries
1 lemon slice
Ice
Blackberries (optional)
Mint leaf (optional)
Directions:
In a shaker combine the bourbon, Huckleberry Blackberry Cascade, muddled blackberries and ice. Squeeze the juice from the lemon slice into the shaker. Shake vigorously. Strain the mixture into a sugar-rimmed glass. Garnish with blackberries and mint leaf.
Best Dressed Blueberry Virgin Cocktail
Sparkling Ice has zero calories—adding a touch of alcohol will give you a very low cal drink.
Ingredients:
4 oz. Blueberry Pomegranate SPARKLING ICE
2 oz. Pomegranate Juice
Blueberries
Pomegranate Seeds
Directions:
Mix the drinks into a shaker filled with ice. Pour into glass and float the blueberries and pomegranate seeds in the drink.
To rev it up add a splash of vodka or prosecco.
