Adam Andrews on The Real Dapper Fit and Fashion

Fashion means many things to many people. For some, Fashion is their way of life and for others, fashion is just their business. I believe the best businesses fall somewhere in between. Recently I caught up with Adam Andrews with The Real Dapper Fit (https://therealdapperfit.com/) and asked him some questions about his life and his business. As you’ll discover, he is truly another fashionable entrepreneur.

Where were you born and raised, what was childhood like, and what did you want to become when you grew up?

Born and raised in a small town in Northern California, Lodi. Childhood was filled with amazing memories and lots of motorcycle racing! My family had been racing for many years before I came along and I picked up the family tradition. Been racing since I was 3 years old. I wanted to be a firefighter when I grew up as a kid but those aspirations soon changed.

What did your parents do for a living, and was there any entrepreneurship in the family?

My parents worked at 9-5 jobs. Blue collar and white collar. Not much entrepreneurship around me but it’s in my blood and that’s all that matters.

What does fashion mean to you?

Self-expression in its simplest form.

Describe your personal style.

Casual laid-back streetwear mostly but I have my dapper side when I feel like it.

Who is your favorite designer? Why?

Don’t have one. If I love a fit I’ll buy it no matter the designer or brand name. One of my favorite fits is a simple pink/salmon colored shirt from an Oregon based surf brand.

How did you get involved in fashion?

Shoes. Shoes came first. They were the way I could express myself at a school with a dress code. Shoes eventually evolved into all fashion.

How did you get involved with entrepreneurship?

The classic lemonade stands as a kid. Then lawn mowing, then candy machines, then stock trading, and it’s evolved since then.

What do you like most and least about being an entrepreneur?

I like: The freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want and not having a schedule. Having to manage everything.

I don’t like: Tracking all my taxes and business expenses etc.

Do you have any other businesses?

Yes, I own 3. Soon to be 5 in 2018.

What made you choose accessories as a product?

We love accessories because they make outfits pop and stand out. If two gentleman wore the same suit and shirt, the only thing that would separate them would be their accessories. That’s why. It gives you the freedom of self-expression.

What is your favorite book right now and why?

Tough question. Probably Sell Or Be Sold By Grant Cardone

Do you have any hobbies? What are they?

Dirtbiking. Been racing and riding since I was 3. I love all action sports and have done all of them except skydiving. Soon to be checked off my bucket list!

What’s one thing you’re the most passionate about?

Building businesses.

What are your goals for the rest of 2017?

Launch my latest e-commerce store and hit the $100,000 in sales mark.

What is your favorite quote and why?

“Nothing Less Than Legends,” by Adam Andrews. Why? It’s my quote. That’s why. There’s more to it. It means building something so large and changing the world in a positive way so my legacy will live on long after I’m gone.

Make sure you check out Adam Andrews’ store The Real Dapper Fit and pick up some unique accessories for your dapper days.
