The Benefits of Using a Lip Scrub

People do not always associate summertime with dry lips, however, your lips are even more susceptible to dryness at this time of year. For one you are spending a lot more time outdoors and in the sun, swimming and sports also contribute as does the crisp air conditioned air in our homes and offices.

If you want soft, smooth, silky lips besides lubricating your lips often while indoors with a Lip Balm like Malin+Goetz Mojito Lip Balm (read my review by clicking here) or with a lip balm that has SPF while outdoors like, Badger Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 15 Unscented, or Cotz Lip Balm, SPF 45, exfoliating your lips 1-2 x per week can make a real difference.

Whenever I exfoliate my lips I do it as the first step of my night time beauty routine, and then when I am done with the last step of my evening ritual I use Michael Todd Intensive Lip Cream – this anti-aging lip treatment with collagen really helps to keep my lips looking young and line free. I also use this on nights that I am not exfoliating my lips. (There is a 20% off link for the entire site at the end of the article!)

It is important to use an exfoliator that is gentle and effective. These are my favorites (click on the photos for more information about the product, or to buy):

If you have used any other lip scrubs that weren’t on this list that you have really loved add a comment on the bottom of the page. We would love to hear what great finds you have for us!
