Oscars 2017: the wow factor

Photo: Tablo

As one of the biggest events in the social calendar, the Oscars is the perfect place for celebrities to flaunt their style. Raising the bar every year, we’re struggling to image just how amaze they’ll look next year! LUXE Models brings you the best looks from this year’s red carpet…

Girls night!

Hundreds of celebrities arrived at the event, and sporting their freshly bought outfits, they wowed us on the red carpet. Our favourite of the night was showcased by Karlie Kloss (a theoretical and literal angel!). Karlie wore a floor-length all-white Stella McCartney dress, fitted with asymmetric sleeves and a built-in cape. We absolutely love this look on Karlie! Another favourite of the night was by none other than the current golden girl of the film industry, Emma Stone. She looked amazing in a romantic, gold, twenties flapper-esque gown with layered fringing – none other than a Givenchy haute couture gown. Adding a splash colour with a deep red lip, we couldn’t be any more in love with this look!

 Battle of the boys…

The Oscars wasn’t just about the girls… the boys amazed us too! Looking dapper in their suits, we think we have a major crush on them all! Our hunk of the night Ryan Gosling, the ultimate lady’s man, showed us how to rock a contemporary Gucci black tuxedo, bowtie and monochromatic ruffled shirt. Joining Ryan (and looking equally as fabulous) were Justin Timberlake and Andrew Garfield who both wore Tom Ford, and John Legend who wore Gucci. The boys really gave the girls a run for their money, turning heads as they made their way down the red carpet.

Blue ribbons

A question on many people’s lips was why the stars were adorning Blue Ribbons. We can reveal that the ribbons are in support of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), who support the rights and civil liberties guaranteed by the constitution. Since the political changes in America of late, the union say they have had an increased amount of support. The ACLU reached out to the major nominees ahead of the event to request their participation and support.

The winners

Having so much talent under one roof can make it tricky to choose a winner – thankfully we didn’t have to choose! We already can’t wait for next year! Here are just a few of the winners:

  • Best picture – Moonlight
  • Best actress – Emma Stone (La La Land)
  • Best actor – Casey Affleck – Manchester by the Sea
  • Best animated feature – Zootopia
  • Best director – Damien Chazelle (La La Land)
