Lady Gaga wins at the Super Bowl 2017

It’s been the question on everybody’s lips: Which of Lady Gaga’s famous alter egos will take the stage at the Super Bowl 2017? Arguably the most absurd and unpredictable artist of the 21st century, Lady Gaga confirmed LUXE Models’ prediction that this year’s Super Bowl would be her best show  yet! Following on from her rocket to fame in 2008 with her single ‘Just Dance’, her status in the industry has gained incredible momentum. With 65.2 million twitter followers, she is the 8th most followed person in the world behind fellow artists: Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Rihanna. Gaga definitely did not disappoint this year when she performed for the second time at the prestigious Super Bowl; singing her classic ‘Just Dance’, right through to new hit ‘Million Reasons’ from her latest album ‘Joanne’.

Absolutely Gaga

Gaga’s iconic style (turning plenty of heads!) has been the focal point for swarming media attention throughout her career. From the ‘superstar’ outfit she showcased in Paris 2014 to her 2010 ‘meat dress’ (who can forget?), Gaga rejuvenates the fashion industry with her elaborate (and sometimes shocking) designs! One of her best-loved designers, Donatella Versace, was spotted in attendance at the Super Bowl game on Sunday last Sunday to support dear friend Lady Gaga. The designer posted a video to Insta from her private jet – travelling in style! The blonde duo often collaborate – creating kooky outfits, debuted by Gaga. At the Super Bowl last week Gaga stunned in a custom made Atelier Versace bodysuit – studded with Swarovski crystals and featuring sculpted shoulders – and we LOVED it!

Superstar

Lady Gaga put stars in our eyes at the 2016 Super Bowl when she sang her rendition of the national anthem, which was compared afterwards to Whitney Houston’s version at the Super Bowl XXV. However, this year she gained the honour of performing the full halftime show – previously superstars such as Beyoncé and Coldplay have graced the stage with their greatest hits. Gaga gushed about her performance reiterating how much of an honour it was to her “as an American” to be chosen for the 13-minute set. In true Gaga style, she exhibited ‘all or nothing’ vibes. With 300 drones lit up in the form of the American flag and her plummet from the roof of the NRG Stadium (suspended by cables for obvious safety reasons), the megastar certainly didn’t disappoint!

 Controversy…

Gaga caused quite a stir during her Super Bowl performance when she opened with the song ‘This Land is Your Land’, originally sung by Woody Guthrie. More recently, it has been used amongst anti Trump protesters at recent rallies. While this was not seen as being political there’s nothing like a subtle Gaga dig…

Hat-trick year?

The next question spill from everyone’s lips is whether Gaga will perform at the Super Bowl for a third year, making it her hat-trick year. As one of the 21st century’s most favoured artists, here at Luxe Models we can’t see why not! Creating a fun filled show for all ages, Gaga would totes be our first choice! Or will we see another superstar take to the stage? Following Beyoncé’s pregnancy announcement, it’s doubtful the star will perform at next year’s Super Bowl while juggling her family commitments. So this leaves us wondering who will be the Super Bowl 2018’s MVP (most valuable performer).
