Five Highlights From Paris Fashion Week

Rounding off Fashion Month Spring/Summer 2017, Paris Fashion Week was eventful to say the least. LUXE Models reveals five highlights from Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017.

Kim’s iconic look

Kim Kardashian stunned at the Balmain show. The reality TV star, who sat on the front row, rocked a risqué metallic, knit-fishnet floor-length dress which left almost nothing to the imagination. Sparking headlines around the world, we’re sure this fabulous piece, along with other Balmain highlights, such as jewel-toned snake prints and rainbow crocheted clothes, will be everywhere next season.

Recurring trends

Several trends we’ve already seen this Fashion Month came to Paris too. During London Fashion Week, designers experimented with sleeves and this was also an area of focus in Paris, with designers such as Isabel Marant and Edwardiana opting for puffy versions. Other reappearing trends included single-earrings and statement coats, with an ultra-shiny black version wowing Saint Laurent audiences.

Changing industry wisdoms

According to the Guardian, new designers such as Anthony Vaccarello at Saint Laurent and lesser-known brands like Off White and Atlein showed collections in Paris. Commenting, Net-a-porter’s Vice President of Global Buying Sarah Ruston said that Paris “is seeing much more newness now… It’s not just about the big established brands any more, there are so many debuts on and off schedule.” London could be losing its place as the home of new talent and cutting-edge fashion to its French rival.

Feel-good fashion

Vogue writes that ‘feel-good’ fashion was everywhere in Paris, indicating that this is going to be a huge trend. Balenciaga’s models worked stretchy spandex, Celine’s models rocked funny miss-matched shoes and Klein blue form-stamped white dresses, while Valentino’s collection screamed romance and whimsy with southern belle-inspired pieces. Along with Givenchy’s awesome psychedelic prints and Hillier Bartley’s 70s London-esque collection, this showed that fashion has never been less serious!

Amazing beauty looks

We saw which beauty looks are set to be hot next season in Paris. We absolutely loved the Lanvin show, where models worked dewy, fresh make-up, indicating that natural beauty is set to be hot in Spring/Summer 2017. Balmain models were given smokier, glitzier make-up that proved a big hit, while the feminine 50s fringes, coupled with sleek brows, at the Rochas event were totally inspired!

Goodbye Fashion Month

So not only did Paris Fashion Week confirm patterns we’ve seen at other events, it also brought other cool new exciting trends into the public eye, showing us what’s destined to be hot next season. And so with the end of Paris Fashion Week, we say goodbye to another Fashion Month. We’ll see you early next year in New York, to see what trends designers dream up for the Autumn/Winter 2017 season!
