It’s the peak of summers and many of us like to keep indoors just to avoid the discomfort of the heat (and well, sweaty armpits). The wrath of the heat and the sunlight takes a toll on our skins unlike any other time of the year.
While heavy makeup is a strict no-no for these sultry months, there are some products that you ought to carry with you.
- Sunscreen:
This is a no-brainer. The sun is bright and hot, and you require protection from the harmful ultra violet rays whether indoors or outdoors. Get a water based sun screen (SPF 30+) for the summer but make sure that you try them out before buying a big tube just in case they trigger a break out.

Summer months can be harsh for the skin and and many products can easily cause a breakout. Also sunburn is a commonality in India. Aloe vera is the perfect solution to healing and soothing any kind of sunburn and also helps to cool your skin after day in the sun.

The days maybe sweaty, but your skin loses out on essential moisture in the heat. A body mist is a must have, even if you just want it for feeling refreshed.

What’s summer without colour? While pastels will rule your wardrobe almost every summer, a hint of colour on your lips would work wonders to brighten up your face. I like lip stains because they tend to stay longer and don’t look like they are about to melt off in the heat.
My Favourite – Lakme Absolute Lip Tint/ L’oreal Baby Lips - Classic red polish:
Add drama to your attire with a bright classic red nail polish. Don’t forget to use a base coat to avoid yellowing of the nails.

Lining your eyes is an essential part of make up. But chose a waterproof eyeliner to avoud mishaps.

Get a fragrance that is citrusy to feel refreshed all day. Deos might feel good, but alcohol in them mixed with the sweat are not a very good combination. Go for fruity soft flavour.
