Review: Himalaya Anti Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner

Dandruff is a very common problem for people across sections, and it can happen for various reasons. While there are many products available over the counter to relieve you of the itching, very few actually work in the long run. I have already reviewed the Himalaya Anti Dandruff Hair oil and found the product to be quite good. The shampoo and the conditioner in the long run have been even better.

It has been three weeks since I have started using the products and fingers crossed I have been totally dandruff free this monsoon, so yay!

About the shampoo

Price: Rs 130

Size: 200 ml

Ingredients: Tea Tree Oil,Grape Seed,Indian Sarsaparilla, Aloe Vera, Kumari, Tila, Rusmari, Draksha, Sveta Sariva, Chanaka, Kayaputi. Sodium Benzoate IP, Potassium sorbate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Climbazole.

Pros

  1. Light on the hair and using it twice a week for three weeks has visibly reduced the dandruff.
  2. Reduces itchiness in the first wash
  3. Value for money. At Rs 130 for 200 ml this shampoo is quite cheap and effective.
  4. Cleans out the hair effectively removing all oiliness from the hair and scalp.
  5. Has a refreshing smell which isn’t very strong.

Cons

  1. Dries out your hair quite a bit, but the conditioner gets back the required moisture so using them together is a good idea.
  2. The tea tree oil may irritate some people, I personally don’t have a problem with it.
  3. You require a bit more product than usual for a good lather build up.

About the conditioner

Price: Rs 130

Size: 200 ml

Ingredients: Rosemary, Tea Tree, Neem, Hyamaraka (Sweet Indrajao)

Pros

  1. Conditions the hair very well
  2. Three weeks of use along with the shampoo has visibly reduced dandruff.
  3. It is priced very reasonably and is easily available.
  4. Detangles hair very easily after wash.

Cons

  1. Would probably not suit those with oily hair.
  2. Takes a bit of an effort to wash out.
  3. A little difficult to find online.
