The New Year is almost upon us, which can only mean one thing in the fashion industry… the January sales! Here, Luxe Models talk you through all of the things you’ll need to bear in mind in order to make the most of the January Sales.
- Plan
You should check your wardrobe and make a list of what you want. Find out which places are going to be stocking the items you need, and be prepared with a backup in case they don’t have your size. You’ll need a bottle of water and a handy snack to see you through the mid-afternoon. That should allow you to push on and grab a couple more bargain items!
- Attire
Don’t get caught out in heels – the January sales require flats or trainers. It’s a mini workout which will need a practical wardrobe, so don’t wait until the sales to buy your casual footwear. Maybe put those on your Christmas wish list! You’ll be one step ahead with a good coat for warmth between shops, and maybe an oversized top or dress over leggings for practicality.
- Go alone
Don’t get caught chatting when some serious bargain hunting is to be done! The January sales aren’t for a casual catch up between friends, and you won’t be able to stick with your plan unless you’re alone. You’ll also be more nimble around shops on your own!
- Start early
Gone are the days when people queued round the block for the January sales but an early start will give you a head start on stock choices. Make sure something’s returnable even if it’s in the sale – the last thing you want is to spend your money on something which turns out to be the wrong size or style!
- Style
The more expensive the item, the higher the reduction will probably be. Don’t use the January sales as an excuse to downgrade your wardrobe; take it as an opportunity to save some money on some higher end items!
