The team at Spida sports would like to say a huge congratulations to Corrine Hammond.

While most of us where enjoying our Christmas and new year holidays, Corrine was preparing to travel to England to compete in the Lakeside World Championships.

Following a successful 2014/2015 season in BDO ranked tournaments, which saw Corrine dominate the Australian Grand Prix Circuit; taking out the title in 7 of the 11 Grand Prix tournaments she contested between 1 October 2014 – 28 September 2015, Corrine was able to move her way into the number 10 spot in the BDO rankings points table by the close of the BDO season on 28 September 2015. Breaking into the top 10 has seen qualify as a direct entry into the hotly contested Lakeside line-up, which has historically been dominated by players from UK and Europe.

Corrine’s continued achievements are encouraging for all our ladies who are striving to improve their game and achieve on the highly competitive world stage; and she proves that hard work and determination can help fulfil those dreams. With over 40 different titles to her name over the last 7 – 8 years, she continues to work on her game and meet the competition ‘head on’. Corrine is also currently ranked number 5 in the WDF Women’s Ranking Table

Having recently returned from the World Cup held in Turkey, Corrine and fellow Australian representative Lorraine Burn finished with a bronze medal in the World Cup Ladies Pairs. Corrine and Lorraine also found bronze in the Turkish Open Ladies Pairs, and Corrine took away a further bronze medal in the Turkish Open Ladies singles.

Unfortunately Corrine was knocked out in the last 16 by world number 1 Deta Hedman who eventually came runner up in the final of the tournament.
