Loreal Cushion Foundation Review

Tags: foundation

I am a foundation junkie; so when I saw this foundation was coming on the market. I instantly knew I had to pick it up. I have been looking at the Lancôme version of this product but the price put me off; as I weren't sure on if I'd like a product like this. But let me tell you, this product has completely changed my mind on cushion foundation.

Shade Choice
Let's say drugstore's really haven't got the memo on having a variety on colour shades on offer. Luckily for me I am pale so I don't struggle as much on finding a shade fit for me. Bit if you are more tanned then you may have a problem as there are only 7 shades on offer with this foundation. I went with the shade Vanilla and it's such a perfect match for my skin tone, Vanilla is slightly yellow toned. This is good for me as I have slight yellow undertones more than pink.

Application
I have tried a couple of ways of applying this foundation, from the sponge is came with, a beauty blender, a stippling brush and a flat foundation brush. I found the sponge it came with completely useless; it soaked the foundation up and hardly applied any coverage to my face. My favourite is with a flat foundation brush. I found it applied my foundation perfectly and gave me a flawless finish. It also helped with adding layers and making sure it doesn't look cakey.

Coverage
This foundation is described as a "Dewy Glow Foundation" and I think it lives up to that. It makes my skin look very fresh and dewy but in a you have good skin way not I am a sweaty mess. I'd say this foundation is a light to medium coverage. But is very buildable. I like to have a medium to full foundation, so this is a big change for me. But I like how natural it looks. If I build a few layers then it does turn into a full coverage - and I was surprised that it didn't make me look cakey at all. However, I do have to finish with concealer around my nose area; as I suffer with redness in this area.

Lasting Power
I am lucky that I am not in the oily skin department, so I can set this foundation and don't suffer with any patches or oiliness throughout the day. But if you do struggle with oily skin this foundation may be a big no no for you, due to it being very dewy. Maybe if you top up on powder throughout the day, you may be able to make this foundation work for you.

I think this foundation is lovely and such a good product for it's price I paid £9.99 for this foundation, as Boots had it on offer but I know it is currently £14.99 which I think is quite pricey for a drugstore foundation. Plus, it also has SPF 29, which is great. As I really don't want any wrinkles or any damage to my skin. I highly recommend this foundation to anyone who has drier skin and maybe keep the blotting papers on hand if you do tend to get oily
