Boney Kapoor Auctions Sridevi’s Favorite Sari For Charity Ahead of Her First Death Anniversary

Bollywood’s finest actress Sridevi is no longer with us since last one year. February 24 will mark Sridevi’s first death anniversary. Her memories are still alive in the hearts of family and fans.

The Kapoor family including Boney Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor held a special puja on February 14 as the tithi of Sridevi’s death anniversary, at her Chennai home. Boney was seen emotional during the puja. However Boney’s children from his first marriage Arjun and Anshula Kapoor did not attend the the puja.

Ahead of her death anniversary, Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor is set to honor his wife by auctioning her favorite kota sari online for a charitable cause. Its auction started online on parisera.com.

The money received from this auction will be given to the Concern India Foundation NGO, helping women, children, differently-able, elderly and underprivileged people.

The bidding price started from Rs 40,000 and has reached to Rs 1, 30,000 till now. Sharing the memories about Sridevi and details about the sari, the official website writes, “Sridevi’s style has evolved since her early days in the film industry. But, the six yards has been a constant reminder of her roots. Being born in a South-Indian household, the actress has worn saris as a badge of her identity and has always infused a sense of unique charisma into its pleats.”

Sridevi was a complete package of good looks and talent. Her beauty and acting skills attracted people towards her. She was a true fashionista of Bollywood. Apart from her Sari love in real life, her stunning blue sari look in ‘Mr India’ to gorgeous yellow sari in ‘Chandni’, were always adored by her fans.

Sridevi died due to accidental drowning in a Dubai hotel on February 24 last year. The actress’ last pictures were  from Dubai wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah, where she breathed her last.
