Apply a base coat.

For the obvious reasons.

Apply a white base.

This will help the colors pop and give you the base to create that textured gradient.

Start with your lightest color.

We decided on a pink gradient, so we started with Essie’s Van D’Go.

Scrape off excess polish.

Use the neck of the bottle to scrap off excess polish.

You also want to do a few strokes on a piece of paper to ensure you get that dry brush texture.

Create quick strokes on the top of the nail.

Gently do Quick Strokes on the nail, focusing the lightest color at the top.

Do the same with a medium color.

Now do the same with a medium color. We are using Essie’s Castaway.

Finish with the darkest color.

To finish your gradient, apply your darkest color (still using quick strokes). We used Essie’s Bottle Service.

Finish with a top coat.

This will give you the shine, and also help blend your colors together for a smoother gradient.

Finished!
