Enough follows the story of Slim (Jennifer Lopez) who gets trapped in an abusive marriage and fights back for the sake of herself and her daughter.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo


Based on the best seller novel series, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is a thriller that follows the lives of journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) and genius hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara). Lisbeth faces severe emotional, physical and sexual abuse that she over comes. She turns into a vigilante type no nonsense character and we love her for it.

The Hunger Games


Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is the girl on fire who is forced to kill by ‘playing’ in the Hanger Games after volunteering in the place of her younger sister. Katniss is then dragged into a a political war, and before she knows it she’s seen as the face of rebellion (aka the Mockingjay) and must fight not just for her life, but for the life of those she loves and the oppressed world around her.

Million Dollar Baby


Get your tissues ready, because this film will pull at your heart strings. Directed and produced by Clint Eastwood, this film gives an inside peak at how an amateur boxer (Hilary Swank) achieves her dream of becoming a professional with the guidance of an underappreciated boxing trainer (Eastwood).

The Help


Focused during the Civil Rights movement in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi, The Help is mainly an all female cast that takes a different perspectives on racism during that time. Skeeter (Emma Stone) is a journalist that decides to write a book from the point of view of the black maids, exposing the racism they face as they work for white families.

Elizabeth The Golden Age


Loosely based on a true story, Elizabeth The Golden Age looks at one of the most empowered woman in history, Queen Elizabeth 1 of England. The film stars Cate Blanchet and looks at her decisions not to marry, her complicated reign as queen, and her quest to find power and strength within herself.

Girl Interrupted


Girl Interrupted follows Kaysen’s (Wionna Ryder) 18-month stay at a mental institution after attempting suicide due to her lack of interest in the world. While there she meets other patients (such as a manipulative sociopath played by Angelina Jolie) and learns about what it means to be a women in the 1960s.

A League of Their Own


A League of Their Own is a fictional representation of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It focuses on two sisters Dottie and Kit (Geena Davis and Lori Petty) work together in order to help create the first female professional baseball league, all the while dealing with their turbulent relationship with each other.
