Kit Kat was first invented in England, then picked up by the Nestle… and then it hit Japan. Oh, Japan, the centre of all things kawaii, eccentric, and unique. Believe me when I tell you Kit Kat is huge in Japan. Were you excited when you saw peanut butter flavoured Kit Kat? Well, be prepared to be absolutely blown away with what the Japanese have come up with:

The Delicious Kit Kats

What mastermind came up with this? It just makes so much sense when you combine these flavours into a Kit Kat. Cookies are delicious, cinnamon is delicious, chocolate is delicious. The Mexicans have been putting cinnamon and chocolate together for years. Add cookie into the mix and it’s like whoa.

Strawberry cheesecake is probably one of the most popular desserts, like ever. This is a white chocolate base with the aromatic scent of strawberry infused into it. And since it doesn’t have any strawberry pieces in it, there’s no grittiness.

Who’s favourite Starbucks drink is the caramel macchiato? Well now it’s in Kit Kat form! This is a super sweet version of the famous chocolate bar, dripping with the fragrance of caramel. Also, strangely enough, this was a product of a cross promotion between Kit Kat and McDonalds, who put out a caramel macchiato McFlurry.

The “Different” Kit Kats

The sweet potato is actually used in a lot of Chinese and east Asian desserts. The chocolate comes in a pretty faded purple colour, just like the purple sweet potato. This flavour is particularly sweet.

I suppose people put rose essence in a lot of desserts too, like turkish delight and frostings. It’s not the first time we’ve heard of florals flavours in food. In any case, cherry blossoms conjure up such a beautiful image you can’t but help thinking they’ll be delicious. And plus, it’s pink.

First off, the pictures of this look amazing. It’s a white with a toasted marshmallow kind of look. And you actually do take them and stick them in the oven. It’s like a baked good combined with a a classic chocolate bar.

The What-Were-They-Thinking?? Kit Kats

I love edamame as much as the next guy. I love popping them out of their skins and munching on their salty goodness, all the while thinking of how healthy I’m being. Unfortunately, I kind of doubt how well the beany-ness would go with chocolate. This is weird.

Soy sauce and sushi, Soy Sauce and fish, soy sauce and rice, I get. But soy sauce and chocolate? I wonder if this actually sells. Just… why? Surprisingly, Kit Kat is coated in a tame, unassuming white chocolate. You can’t really tell that it’s soy sauce (read: beware).

Wasabi, the Japanese equivalent to horseradish. Pungent, mustardy, and spicy.. I can’t imagine how anybody could come up with the thought of turning this into the sweet chocolatey goodness that is Kit Kat.
