Staying at the Sigló Hótel in Iceland

Oh, Iceland! The country of hiking, waterfalls, lava, moss, and sheep with daylight for 22 hours in the summertime at an average of 50 degrees.

While being in Iceland, there are tons of hotels and Airbnb's to choose from, but I would suggest getting hotels and Airbnb's early because most of the places were sold out before we left. We were lucky to get at least 3 days here. So plan wisely. It was amazing to stay at the Sigló Hótel. This hotel right on the waterfront and a gorgeous setting that you will see in the photos.
Here’s my experience staying at Sigló Hótel in Iceland!

Getting There

There is a bit of distance between Reykjavik and  Siglo Hotel. It's a 4-hour drive and the hotel is in the northern part of Iceland. It's a great way to start the ring road trip if you want to do the whole island. It's a great place to start and stay at for a little bit. I would suggest getting a car or a camper van if you come to Iceland. Taxies are super expensive and it's already expensive to be in Iceland anyways. So to save you money on taxi's just rent a vehicle!

The Hotel

This pretty resort is by the North Atlantic ocean, this town only has 2000 people living in it, so its a very small town, but beautiful with all the colors. It's a luxury type of hotel up here, but it's worth the money. We stayed here for 3 days and its a very fun atmosphere.

For me, there’s nothing more beautiful than Icelandic architecture and design. Being able to stay in a hotel over the ocean is pretty amazing. I wish they had bungalows, but it's a fun hotel that's just over the ocean!

The Room

Every room in the Siglo is unique, it is a European style, so the rooms aren't huge, but they are adorable when you go inside. You do get a cell phone once you get your room to make calls to the reception, I thought it was strange to have a cell phone, but they do not have other phones there.
Whichever option you go for, you can look forward to complimentary breakfast here! The breakast is amazing and feels like home cooked meals.

Dining Experiences

We didn't eat dinner at this hotel, we wanted to, but it was very expensive. We sat down to see what was on the menu and there was a couple items on there, but 80 dollars a plate is not worth it to eat there. It's probably amazing food, but that's too much for eating a meal there when the hotel is expensive anyways.

Leisure Activities

The activities here are hiking, whale watching, fishing, and puffins tour. Most of these activities aren't actually in this town but they have a shuttle to the whale and puffin watching!
