Should Divorce Be Taught In Schools Too?

Remember when we used to have Home Ec classes? In the early nineties I had it in my middle School. We learned basic skills in cooking, cleaning, sewing and how to take care of a baby doll for about a week. To be honest with you, it was a good introduction to life beyond the classroom but unfortunately it’s a class that is no longer being taught in our public schools (which is sad considering the fact that there are so many teens out there who don’t even know how to use an iron properly).

And while we didn’t have a class on how to raise a family, it kind of gave us the idea on how marriage would look like while you’re trying to get dinner ready with a screaming (fake) baby demanding to be fed at the same time. Now there’s another idea being thrown around as a class course – an introduction to Divorce. It sounds so 2016, doesn’t it?

British singer and celebrity mom Lily Allen thinks kids should learn essential life skills that will better prepare them for the future. When asked about it during a Twitter conversation with British Education Minister Nick Gibb, she urged the politician to reassess the standard course curriculum in schools. Here’s what she said:
