BLOG TAKEOVER: A WEEKEND IN SKECHERS

We partnered with blogger Samuel Anthony from The Frenchie Toast for this takeover so that he could share how easy it is to style a full weekend with Skechers.

Oh the glorious Weekend. A time when we finally get to relax and do what we want to do…right? Ummmm…not necessarily. As an adult, weekends tend to become more like a two-day period of chores, minus the allowance. However, there are some major perks, a break from work, sleeping in and of course more time with my smashed-faced drooling fur babies.

I am definitely obsessed with my pups, which is one of many reasons why I named my blog after them: The Frenchy Toast. If you follow it or my Instagram, you may already be familiar with my special stinky boys: Harvey Winston and his younger brother, Harvey Winston Jr. Fortunately I work from home so we get to spend a lot of time together, but one of my favorite things to do is harness up my little piggies and go for a walk.

This requires comfortable clothes… Queue my excitement over the current athleisure trend, where clothes typically worn for fitness or athletics are worn solely for fashion. I like to go monochromatic when styling this trend. In this instance picking a black scalloped t-shirt with black basketball shorts and my Skechers Flex 2.0 sneakers…they feel like they were molded just for my feet and offer support without compromising on comfort…IE – it feels like you are walking on clouds. Plus, how cute are they?

Regardless of trends, I wanted to change into something a bit less casual before heading out to run some errands. I opted for dark raw denim, skinny fit of course, paired with a grey v-neck and brown Skechers Porter – Ressen sneakers. I specifically chose these because of their classic look. Needless to say running errands is a little less daunting when you feel good in what you’re wearing and how easy was that? Great jeans, a v-neck and my favorite sneakers…plus cruising around in my new car makes basic errands a little more exciting.

Weekends really aren’t all work though, Sundays are always the light at the end of the tunnel when I’ve gotten through all my responsibilities. They’re the perfect opportunity to have a lazy day on the couch with my dogs followed by a proper date night…besides it really does feel good to dress up! One thing that usually drives me crazy about formal wear is how uncomfortable the shoes are. Whether it’s straining myself to death trying to jam my foot into the Shoe or simply walking in them, these shoes are normally not something I look forward to wearing. Fortunately, the Mark Nason collection addressed all my concerns with their line of DressKnit shoes. They easily slide right on and are as comfortable as house slippers, but with the support you expect from a proper dress shoe.

I hope that these looks will help inspire easy fashions for your weekend. Whether you are walking the dogs, running around town or going out for a romantic evening, remember to not over think your clothes. Stick with simple, monochromatic colors and garments that feel great! Thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog takeover!
