Did you know that February 8th is National Boy Scouts Day? Since 1910, boys across America have been doing good deeds, learning survival skills and developing moral foundations through the Boy Scout of America. Part of being a scout involves learning how to build and prepare a Scout's Day Pack. These packs are by no means a bug out bag or full-on survival kit. They are, however, meant for scouting outside of the campsite, hiking and more. The video below details the essentials of a scout's pack and why it is helpful to have these items on your person while out in the woods.
You can find the some of the items shown in this video as well as the pack and straps at Rothco.com.
