How to Use a Blackhead Remover or Extractor?

A Blackhead remover/ blackhead extractor is basically a stainless steel tool with a scoop-shaped end with a central hole. Blackheads are annoying little unsightly spots on the face and other areas of the skin where oil has built up and become trapped inside the pore. Blackhead extractors are instruments used by professional beauty therapists to gently lever out blockages and blackheads from the skin. You don’t have to visit a professional to have your blackheads removed. You can get rid of them yourself, at home, with a blackhead extractor.
How to Use a Blackhead Remover/ Extractor?
  1. Sterilize the extractor before each use by soaking it in rubbing alcohol for a couple of minutes. Remove and dry.
  2. Prepare your skin by softening it with a hot shower or by placing a warm damp towel on your face until it cools. Run more warm water on the towel, ring it out and place it on your face again. Repeat each time it cools.
  3. Press the hole of the extractor over the offending blackhead and press gently. The dirty contents should come out through the hole without damaging the surrounding skin.
  4. Use the side of the scoop to remove oily skin debris at the side of the nostrils, the dip of the chin and in the ears.
  5. Immediately after using the extractor, apply a soothing antiseptic cream to kill any bacteria that may enter the open pore.
