This review will describe the three best Bentley colognes for men. I will detail their smell, performance, and anything else you need to know. I was doubtful before I tried them, but I’m glad I did.

#3 – Bentley for Men Intense
The opening is led by a hefty dose of boozy rum and subtle warm spices. Followed shortly after by a microdose of fresh bergamot. The first 10-15 minutes is all about the warm rum accord.
As it sits on the skin, the prominence of the rum recedes. Leaving room for more masculine additions. I pick up a trio of cedar, incense, and benzoin. Creamy cedar is the most prominent of the three. They give the scent a much-appreciated balance before the base develops.
Most things have stayed the same in the dry-down. The resins have gotten slightly heavier and darker. The rest of the wear is a warm, boozy scent with deep woody accents.
The performance is outstanding, with 12+ hours on the skin with above-average projection. It pushes past an arm’s length for hours. After this period, it is a moderate ambiance for the rest of the wear. This is exclusively fall and winter wear for special occasions.
#2 – Bentley for Men Silverlake
The opening starts with an uplifting citric freshness. It is mainly lemon with a zesty tinge of sourness. In the background is cool mint, providing masculine greenness and helping balance out the intensity of the lemon.
The overarching emphasis in the opening is fresh spices. An airy and ozonic violet leaf adds to the mid, bringing pepper nuances. The violet leaf supports the freshness of the lemon, while the pepper note supports a more robust spice accord.
Citruses and spices recede in the dry down. Airy violet leaf remains with new additions of amber wood and musk. The rest of the wear is sweet and effervescent with the warmth of amber and musk.
Silverlake lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate to light projection. The first two hours push out two to three feet for the first two hours. After this period, it recedes to a light ambiance of less than a foot for the rest of the wear.
This is exclusively spring and summer wear for all occasions. I enjoy this as a formal occasion and date night fragrance as it is exceptionally fresh but still retains the class to stand out in those situations.
#1 – Bentley for Men Absolute
The first spray is quite invigorating. There is a combination of subtle pink pepper and typical zingy ginger. Both of which are encased and supported by a strong incense note. This trio works exceptionally well together and comes across as very pleasant.
This beautiful opening does not last for long. The mid is almost a completely different scent. Dry woods push their way in, mainly papyrus and cedar. Followed by a subtly resinous nature, all wrapped in an amber and oud duo.
The rest of the wear is softer but all about the amber and oud duo with a resinous nuance. The entire fragrance was never prominent or overpowering at any stage. Yet, it was bold and present, hence the charming nature.
The performance is average. It lasts seven hours on the skin with moderate projection. But the scent is unique and special, so it’s great for those special occasions you want to impress. It is excellent fall and winter wear but gets too intense in spring and summer heat.
Final Words
My favorite part about Bentley fragrances is their quality and affordability. All of these scents can be purchased for $30 – 40. They don’t smell niche but don’t smell synthetic. Great scents for a small collection.
I love Absolute and Silverlake as they are “opposites” and can spice up your collection; I still enjoy Bentley colognes occasionally, even in a large collection.
