#6 – Red Tobacco

A giant blast of oud and incense lead the opening. They are accompanied by apple and cinnamon spice. The apple, in this case, could be more useful; it isn’t fruity or sweet, nor does it really contribute anything else. Cinnamon, on the other hand, provides a warm, spicy kick.

After some time, tobacco fills the void of smoky incense, quickly dissipating. Usually, you’d expect tobacco to be loud and aggressive, but here, it’s gentle and soft. It just sneaks into the mid. In the background are intense woods, not dominant but prevalent.

The dry-down is so good. Amber and sandalwood arise from what seems nowhere. Sandalwood has a creamy and powdery backbone, providing vanilla with good structure. Yet, like true vanilla, it lends sweetness.

This easily lasts til the next day on the skin. 12+ hours longevity. While the projection will fill a room for an entire workday. Red Tobacco is exclusively fall and winter wear for casual situations.

#5 – Instant Crush

A combination of citrus and fruits is immediately noticeable upon the first spray. The degree of freshness is honestly impressive. Playing second fiddle is ginger and saffron.

I particularly like ginger in this because of its unique spicy kick. The saffron has a floralness to it, but it amplifies ginger’s spice for the most part.

There is a dry-down, but the scent lacks a solid heart. After a while, amber, vanilla, and musk become prevalent. For the rest of the wear, they only get stronger.

To my nose, this trio has a sweet, sensual nature, enveloped in a warm base of amber. The opening is quite exciting, yet the dry down is additive.

Instant Crush lasts 12+ hours on the skin with room-filling projection for a large portion of the wear. This is best worn in the fall and winter for all occasions. It shines on dates as it is such an attractive fragrance.

#4 – Aoud Lemon Mint

The opening starts with a bright and zesty lemon and orange kick. They dominate the first few minutes with spicy pepper nuances in the background. They help break up the dominance of the citruses and add an alluring touch to the top notes.

Creamy and nutty almond notes bring a touch of sweetness after the first few minutes. They are prevalent but gain more strength later in the wear.

Interestingly enough, the scent tree has no mint notes despite the fragrance’s name. However, the citruses and spicy pepper at the top combine to make an aroma reminiscent of spicy mint.

Oud leads the heart with deep woody and dark faucets but never earthy or animalic. Vanilla and floral jasmine present themselves in the heart as well. They mix with creamy almond notes. Mellowing them out but also adding a nice balance.

The floral jasmine gets quite strong in the mid. If you’re a man afraid of florals in a fragrance, you won’t enjoy this part of the scent as it is very unisex.

The dry down begins as the florals fade. The base is all about warmer oud notes with fresh and sweet nuances from before. Lastly, there’s a faint, aromatic addition from Vetiver that amplifies the freshness of the fragrance.

This lasts 10 – 12 hours on the skin with above-average projection for hours. It pushes out at least five feet for the first four hours before losing strength. This is best for fall, spring, and winter wear. As for occasions, it is all but close-quarter settings.

#3 – Aoud Vanille

The opening is based on mild spices sitting atop an oud and vanilla duo. I don’t smell one specific spice note, but they are warm and well-rounded. They never “assault” my nose. The easiest way to describe the opening is like burning wood with a decent dose of vanilla.

As the wear continues, I’m in awe of how authentic and natural the vanilla smells. After an hour or two, I still smell heavy vanilla with smoky woods and oud. The smokiness comes from the unique guaiac wood. You’ll get this for the rest of the wear; it is a very linear fragrance.

This lasts 12+ hours on the skin with excellent projection. The first five hours will fill a room. After this period, it recedes but maintains a two to three-foot ambiance for the rest of the wear. This is exclusively fall and winter wear for special occasions.

#2 – Lemon Line

As the name suggests, the opening is a hefty dose of bright lemon. It is juicy, fresh, acidic, etc… There are some other tart citruses in the background, but it is mostly about the lemon note. In the background is a touch of sweet amber to give depth.

Lemon Line skips a mid. After 10 -15 minutes, it dries down to fresh citruses, lavender, and touches of amber and musk. This is an extremely linear scent. This is what you’ll smell for the rest of the wear.

This lasts seven to eight hours on the skin with light projection. The first two hours, it pushes out two feet. After this period, it becomes a skin scent for the rest of the wear. This is fall and winter wear for all occasions. It is an extremely high-quality fragrance.

#1 – Cedrat Boise

Mancera Cedrat Boise is a simple fragrance. The opening is a fruity blast with woody depth. The longer it sits on the skin, the brighter and more refreshing it gets.

After a few hours, the intensity of the fruits subsides, and the woody depth fills the void. Besides a more prominent musk in the base, the scent stays linear. The notes differ in strength but don’t change.

The muskiness was always in the background for the entire wear, but it took a while to shine. It mixes in equal parts with the woody accords, and the duo dominates the rest of the wear.

There is an array of notes working together to create the scent. To the untrained nose, it’s a sweet and bright opening with a masculine woody musk base.

This lasts 12+ hours on the skin with excellent projection. It fills the room for five to six hours. After this period, it recedes but maintains a mild two to three-foot ambiance for the rest of the wear. As for seasons and occasions, it is all.

Final Words

The final burning question is, are Mancera colognes worth it? Yes. They are great beginner niche fragrances, but most are also excellent performers. There’s nothing worse than a fragrance that doesn’t last. Luckily, you won’t have to worry about that here.

After you try a Mancera Cologne, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
