Valentino Uomo (2023) Full Review – Do You Actually Need It?

Uomo.

The original of a classy fragrance line.

Valentino Uomo was released in 2014. It is based on woods and gourmands. It lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Valentino Uomo Smell Like?

The opening is a distinct mixture of aromatic, nutty, sweet, and leathery accords. The aromatic nature comes from fresh bergamot. This is neither a fresh nor citric fragrance, but it does have an “energy” in the opening.

The sweet and nutty accords come from a prominent hazelnut note. While all sit atop a leathery depth. It’s not animalic and dark but rather a lighter leather accord.

The mid has a unique combination. Powdery iris and coffee add. The coffee blends best with the leathery backbone. At the same time, the powdery iris jumps to the forefront mixing with the lingering bergamot. The main emphasis of these two is to bring a degree of energy to the fragrance.

The dry-down lacks the strong sweetness and nuttiness from before. I mainly get coffee and leather with woody accents for the rest of the wear. Interestingly, I didn’t pick up on much of a chocolate accord the entire wear.

Performance

Uomo lasts eight hours on the skin with moderate projection. The first hour, it pushes out an arm’s length. After this period, it recedes and maintains a one to two-foot ambiance for the rest of the wear. The sillage is decent. This is a dense scent, so it can linger in the air as you move around. This performance is with five sprays.

This is fall, winter, and early spring wear. Be careful it doesn’t get too hot the day you wear it, as the sweetness and density of the fragrance will become overpowering. As for occasions, it is best suited for dates and formal occasions.

The mass appeal and likability are excellent. This is a very charming and masculine fragrance. There are no decisive notes in the scent, and it’s high-quality. Even if you wear this for situations other than dates and formal occasions, you’ll never overwhelm, and you might even allure some attention.

The uniqueness is excellent. There are a lot of gourmand fragrances on the market, but none have this combination of notes. I’ve reviewed 300+ colognes on this website so far, and only a few, if any, have a hazelnut note.

Besuited Aroma gives Valentino Uomo a 9 out of 10 rating.

Final Words

The most similar fragrance is Valentino Uomo Intense. You can check out this full review and see if it’s better for you.

The final burning question is, is Valentino Uomo worth it? Yes. My favorite part of the fragrance is the playful and allure of the gourmands. Yet, it still has a very classy, masculine, and mature aroma. It shouts, “I do well for myself, and I don’t need to prove it to you.”

After you try Valentino Uomo, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
