Review: Creed Silver Mountain Water – Do You Need It?

Silver Mountain Water.

A unisex fragrance of stunning freshness.

Creed Silver Mountain Water was released in 1995. It is based on greens, citruses, and fruits. It lasts six to seven hours on the skin with light projection. In this review, I will describe its smell and performance and if it’s worth it.

What Does Creed Silver Mountain Water Smell Like?

Cool and crisp mandarin and bergamot lead the opening. For a solid 20 minutes, the citrus is alone. Until a very sharp black currant emerges with a tempering dose of green tea. In the mid, green tea goes from restraining black currant to gaining a green and herbal quality.

All of this happens while being encased in a shell of musk. At this point, the composition is super fresh with a green coolness.

Into the dry down, a couple of things happen. Green tea and musk move to the forefront, but neither is dominant. While this happens, citruses recede to the background and pair with black currant. Finally, this interesting fresh mix finishes off on a sandalwood base.

Performance

Silver Mountain Water lasts six to seven hours on the skin with light projection. The first one to two hours is decent. It pushes off the skin one to two feet. After this period, it gets softer.

This is exclusively spring and summer wear. It doesn’t have the depth to cut through the cold air. The notes of the fragrances are also what you’d stereotypically think of in warmer weather. If you live in a four-season climate, you’ll get a solid five to six months of wear.

As for occasions, it is all. An extremely easy-to-wear fragrance and a high-quality blend of notes that is not too overwhelming in the office. Yet it still stands out for formal occasions, dates, and casual wear.

Lastly, mass appeal and likability are excellent. This is a very simple aroma that is easy to get along with. There are no decisive notes in this fragrance that are ever off-putting.

Besuited Aroma gives Creed Silver Mountain Water an 8.2 out of 10 rating.

Creed Silver Mountain Water Clones

The best clone is Armaf Club de Nuit Sillage. They’re very similar fragrances with prominent citrus accords, woody notes, and fruity notes.

However, Silver Mountain Water has a prominent green accord that Sillage doesn’t have. Sillage will have a more prominent woodiness in the base and be less fruity.

Final Words

Silver Mountain Water is Creed priced as you’d expect. The final burning question is, is Creed Silver Mountain Water worth it?

Yes, the one thing I enjoy most about this fragrance is not only the quality of the notes and the simplicity of the fragrance.

But compared to other Creed summer fragrances, this is the most wearable, mainly because of the “icy” aspect of the fragrance. Instead, of this being exclusively a summer fragrance. Silver Mountain Water is for any warm weather. The warmer your climate, the more versatile this becomes.

After you try Silver Mountain Water, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
