What Does Guess Seductive Homme Smell Like?

The opening starts with powdery florals, mainly from violet leaf combined with fresh and citric mandarin orange. An invigorating spicy kick lingers in the background. Initially, the pink pepper note is more dominant than the cardamom.

There is a warm ambery depth to the opening. Yet, it is not as prominent as it will be later in the wear.

The first few minutes have a significantly prevalent powdery accord. After the initial spray, it quickly washes over the entire fragrance and dominates in the mid. The orange accent is gone, and together with the powdery accord, it’s very clean.

Cardamom comes back with a vengeance into the heart of the fragrance. It adds to the powdery florals from earlier. The sweet ambery and woody depth have gained dominance but still not to the prevalence as the base.

It takes a few hours to dry down. You’ll smell a prominent warm amber and woody combination for the rest of the wear. In the background, lingers powdery nuances and a gentle cardamom spice accent. Which is the least prominent of all aforementioned accords.

The performance isn’t spectacular, but it also isn’t bad. On the skin, it lasts 6 – 8 hours, with moderate to light projection. It pushes out two feet for the first few hours before receding closer to the skin.

You may consider the projection sub-par, but this is what it was meant to do. This fragrance was meant for special occasions like formal events and dates. Thus, the light projection allows you to be discovered, not announced.

Now that I have given away the wearability, let me describe it in detail. Guess Seductive Homme has a sense of sophistication. It’s impressive for formal events. And, as the name suggests, it is seductive for intimate situations. This is from the ambery, woody, and masculine depth.

The projection is also light enough for the office and casual situations, making this an all-occasion wear. Yet, it is geared mainly toward those special events.

The seasonality has less variability. It is exclusively fall and winter. When there is cooler weather to temper the warmth of the base notes.

Lastly, it is likable. Again seduction is in the name, and the creators weren’t lying. The fragrance is easy to wear and, thus, easy to like. Whether that’s to romantically impress or just show your friends, you smell fantastic.

Yes. Why? It’s affordable and impressive. Currently, a 3.4oz bottle can be purchased for around $22. Considering the wearability and smell, it’s definitely worth it.

If you’re just starting out with fragrances or on a budget. This is the perfect choice to impress on a date without breaking the bank. Even in an extensive collection, I still enjoy having this around occasionally.

Presentation

The 100mL bottle I’m reviewing today has a clear glass bottle with clear juice. The bottle can, at times, have a purplish hue. The cap is black, plastic, and oblong. It partially clicks into place, but I wouldn’t recommend picking it up by the cap. As that’s bad practice in general, and this is less secure than most.

The black and silver box has the name and concentration on the front. The batch code is on the bottom of the box in black writing. Mine is ML14.

Guess is a luxury fashion brand founded in the 70s in California. Most notably, you may have heard of their watches.
