Recap of Advertising Week New York 2023

Advertising Week speakers from highly successful entrepreneur program Shark Tank: Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Damond John, Kevin O’Leary, and Lori Greiner

Earlier this month, we had the opportunity to attend Advertising Week 2023 at The Penn District near Herald Square and Penn Station in New York, NY which was a nice change from being downtown last year.

It took place from Monday, October 16 through Thursday, October 19th with more than 20 stages and lounges for attendees and speakers to attend, socialize, and network.

Featured Speakers included Mark Cuban, Nelly, Andy Cohen, Barbara Corcoran, WWE’s Bianca Blair, Former Professional Athletes Mark Messier and Mike Richter, and Executives from Google, Shutterstock, and Home Depot to name a few.

Throughout the four days, attendees had the opportunity to listen to numerous panels as well as immerse themselves in different activities including Tik Tok with CapCut where you could meet numerous influencers and make your own TikTok “Tube Girl” video using CapCut’s application and take some cool swag home after.

Netflix had a fun arcade activation where you could win prizes and mingle with other attendees.

Google & YouTube had an AI Pit Stop Activation on The Ground Floor where you could learn how to accelerate your business’s growth using the latest ad innovations, and insights as well as be a part of an exhilarating racing game.

On the lower level, Amazon Ads had the Small Business Village which was a dedicated lounge to provide small businesses with a place to decompress from the craziness of Advertising Week New York. Here you could get a snack, explore and sample products from different small businesses in addition to learning about their Ads from their experts.

On Tuesday, October 17th the Tapping into Women’s Sports to Drive Performance Marketing Goals panel included panelist Michelle Cardinal from the Rain the Growth Agency. In addition, we had the opportunity to sit in on the #walkingdeadvertising: Turning the Series Finale into a Cultural Event featuring Dan Sanbor Wheelhouse Labs & Kimmelot.

Culture and Commerce Luncheon, SERRA by Birreria – Molly Passanisi – VP, Americas Sales, Moloco, Tal Shaked – Chief ML Officer, Moloco, Sarah Crennan – Vice President, Head of Content, DTC, National Basketball Association (NBA) and Thomas Garvey – Generative AI and Advanced Measurement Lead, Google Media Lab, Google Media Lab

On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, one of the highlights was checking out the Gaming Marketing is More than a Blockbuster panel featuring gaming veteran Chris Erb of Tripleclix and NY Times Journalist Shannon Liao.

Wednesday evening, our team had the privilege of going to an Advertising Week Happy Hour at the new Virgin Hotel hosted by Verizon and the Harris Agency where they got to network and learn about some of the latest trends and what’s coming down the pipeline in 2024.

On the last day Thursday, October 19th, highlights of Advertising week included the Brand Alchemy: Turning Your IP into Content Gold panel featuring Jared Scott of Revival House, Build-A-Bear, and Claire’s executives where the power of storytelling and iconic brand IPs and why creating compelling and exciting content can not only drive your brand’s value but resonate beyond traditional audiences to bring more brand awareness beyond the brick and mortar stores.

Our day came to an amazing close with The Money Mindset: Unlock Revenue and Future – Proof Your Business Panel featuring Craig Siegel of CLS, Terry Rice of Entrepreneur Media, and Nadia Carta from Google.

During this fireside chat Craig, Terry and Nadia gave the audience actionable insights and tools that helped them boost their revenue as well as have the right mindset to attract more customers and to thrive in any market.

During this game-changing week, we got to experience incredible activations, and network with incredible people who are single-handedly changing the industry by leaps and bounds.

We can’t wait to see what amazing innovations in advertising and marketing lie ahead in 2024 and beyond and can’t wait to attend Advertising Week NY 2024.
