Surf Mesa Shares New Single, “Manzanita,” Released Today Via Astralwerks

Surf Plays EBC In Las Vegas Today and Joins Marshmello At XS Tomorrow, June 24

Combined Global Streams Of Surf Mesa’s Songs Surpass 12 Billion

Just before kicking off a series of Las Vegas shows, Surf Mesa unveils “Manzanita,” a mellifluous new single redolent of dreamy summer nights. He wrote the track, which was released today by Astralwerks, with Elsa Søllesvik and Benji Alasu and recorded it in Los Angeles. Listen to “Manzanita” HERE.

“’Manzanita’ is a track I’ve kept exclusively for the dance floor for a while,” says Surf Mesa. “The texture and atmosphere this song makes me envision a rainforest in the future. It resonates with me so much as I begin my next chapter of music! I’ve been playing this one live for about a year and I’m so glad to finally release it.

Surf plays Encore Beach Club (EBC) today as part of his summer residency. He’ll support Marshmello on two Vegas dates – June 24 at XS and July 15 at EBC. Check out his remix of Marshmello and Halsey’s double-Platinum hit “Be Kind” HERE.

Surf’s upcoming festival performances include Breakaway Ohio and Boston, Moonrise and North Coast. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE.

Since his breakthrough with the 2x Platinum “ily (i love you baby)” featuring Emilee, Surf has amassed over 12 billion combined global streams.

Driven by one goal – to create electronic music that summons the joy of discovery he felt when stumbling upon new artists and songs as a teenager – he’s released a string of vibrant collaborations, including “Somewhere” featuring Gus Dapperton, “Carried Away” (with Madison Beer), “Another Life” (with FLETCHER and Josh Golden), “Marching Band” (with NITTI) and, most recently, “City of Love” featuring Selah Sol. With each song, he encircles the listener in waves of optimism and grandeur.

Upon its release in January 2023, “City Of Love” took a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of “Songs You Need To Know This Week.” MTV News said, “[Once] the consistent electro beat kicks in, you can’t help but feel like you should be riding in a car, windows down, arms in the air, letting go of all your problems, no matter what city you’re in.”

EUPHORIA.Magazine noted, “Surf Mesa continues to redefine California pop as we know it with his latest rhapsodic single ‘City Of Love’ with Selah Sol. Adding another sure-fired hit the singer merely reaffirms his place as music’s ultimate feel-good ride or die.”

In this interview with Pop Crave, Surf talks about collaborating with Selah Sol on the song and how a DM led to professional downhill skateboarder Cole Trotta starring in the official video for “City Of Love.” View the video HERE.

In between “City Of Love” and “Manzanita,” Surf released a remix of ILLENIUM’s “With All My Heart” (with JVKE). Listen HERE.

About Astralwerks:

Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, Astralwerks is America’s preeminent home for groundbreaking artists. Founded in New York City in 1993 by Caroline Records staffers who recognized the promise of the nascent electronic/ambient scene, the label has also launched the careers of indie, alternative and experimental artists.

The first studio albums from The Chemical Brothers, Halsey, Swedish House Mafia, Empire of the Sun, Alison Wonderland, Phoenix, and Porter Robinson, among many others, were all released by Astralwerks in the U.S., fueling a sense of shared discovery with fans.

As a testament to this visionary approach, Astralwerks has amassed 30 GRAMMY® nominations, taken home six GRAMMY Awards and had historic releases from the likes of Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, Fatboy Slim, David Guetta, deadmau5, Eric Prydz, The Avalanches, ILLENIUM and many more.

Now based at the iconic Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, CA, the label is driven by a scalable, independent, and global-thinking ethos that has recently drawn such artists as Alesso, Bob Moses, Chris Lake, SG Lewis, Surf Mesa, and ZHU to its roster, and led to the launch of Astralwerks Asia.

The label has also released such massive singles as the RIAA-certified 6x Platinum “Happier” by Marshmello + Bastille, “Piece Of Your Heart” by MEDUZA & Goodboys, which is certified Platinum and received a GRAMMY nomination, and the Gold certified “Losing It” by FISHER.
