High Court dismisses Cong pleas against IT re-assessment

New Delhi : The Delhi Large Court on Thursday turned down the pleas of Congress complicated the initiation of Cash Flow Tax re-evaluation proceedings for the fiscal years 2017-18 to 2020-21.

The division bench of Justice Yashwant Varma and Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav upheld their stance dependable with a former judgement that dismissed equivalent petitions concerning reassessment for the years 2014-15 to 2016-17.

The judges remarked that the money tax authorities had gathered “considerable and concrete proof” that justified a further evaluation of the Congress party’s revenue and monetary declarations below the provisions of the Cash flow Tax Act.

This improvement came on the heels of the Congress dealing with a substantial tax desire, exceeding Rs 100 crore for the evaluation calendar year 2018-19, whereby the party’s cash flow was assessed to be more than Rs 199 crore.

The tax dispute arose just after the party’s earnings for the 2018-19 assessment calendar year was assessed at Rs 1,99,15,26,560, then the nil money it declared, ensuing in a tax desire of Rs 1,05,17,29,635.
